I'm hoping to get to the 'store' this week. Have prescription for 2 surgical bras and prosthesis (which I cannot as yet get fitted for -- swelling has not gone down completely). I also bought some forms to go in my existing bras, but have not tried them.

At this point, even though the surgeon told me I could go ahead and wear a bra.... I feel a little bit sensitive at the surgery site to want to try it yet.

Fw: Questions

Hi & Barb,I'm pretty small on top, so in the winter (after my operation) I wore a vest over my shirt and went without. I don't think it was noticable. Now that summer is coming I have to come up with a better form. I have a lightweight cotton form and a silicone form. The lightweight form rides up unless I have a bra with underwire or a camisole. The silicone form sometimes sags. So I either am lopsided up or down ;-)I have never gotten fitted like nne did, but I think I need to at some point. I've been using my regular camisoles/bras, but I find with the silicone form that I get a rash on my chest when I'm sweating. I guess at some point I have to go through all my bras and figure out which ones work with a form and which ones I have to get rid of.-

I don't OWN a form - 2 years ago, I made a decision that this was me and I was more comfortable without any forms to worry about.

I do wear comfortable sports bras, and one day hope to design a beautiful "bralette" for women in the same situation as me.

Best,

I am going to do the same thing.

Warning, slightly feminist gripe to follow: Why does our culture force

us to wear artificial breasts to replace those " missing in action " ? If

anyone notes my lopsidedness, I will take the opportunity to talk about

breast cancer, and do a little educating on the fly.

Take care y'all,
