HC/Isocort and Blood Sugar

Well, I've read everything on the web site, followed the emails, read the links therein, monitored my temps, and hope to get labs tomorrow. I doubt Kaiser doc will be willing to order the labs I need, but in any case, based on what I've seen so far, my fear is that I have an adrenal problem (albeit relatively early stage). Had hoped it would be simple thyroid, but it doesn't look that way. One major concern I have is that I am pre-diabetic and struggling w/blood sugar - am worried that taking HC or Isocort will exacerbate this. Is there any good resource for figuring out how to handle the adrenal/thyroid thing in the context of blood sugar issues? Apologies if I missed something.

Thanks!

Val is the best person to advise on that as she is Diebetic and has a

LOT of good dierty advice.

She is sick at the moment so if you can repost when you see her back

that would be best.

Have you done the adrenal temperature checks or the saliva test??

I will repost to Val.

I haven't done adrenal temp check yet (seeing a doc today - will see if she'll order it for me - if not, I'll do it myself). Was doing the basal temps (around 97 plus/minus 4) and every 3 hours (up to around 98 in afternoon), but in particular, after exercise, it drops way down (around 95 yesterday). Not so much in response to mild, steady state exercise (walking, bike riding) as to weight-lifting (slow burn method, to failure). My exercise tolerance has plummeted, so I haven't done the high-intensity work-outs I'm used to doing.

Temp is DIY

Saliva is Dr or order kit

If temp drops after excercise that's adrenal

Yeah - meant to say adrenal check (not temp)>Saliva is Dr or order kit

Doc will only do am cortisol, so I'll have to go with the Canary kit, I guess. She also won't do T3 or RT3, only TSH and T4, insisted that T4 was the active form. So, more out of pocket tests.>If temp drops after excercise that's adrenal

>>That's my fear. Too bad, cause the T3 stuff seems a lot easier to deal w/ than the HC (is that OTC or a mexico thing, or will I need a doc for that)? Thanks, Nick

New HMO needed - the Kaiser docs I've encountered are all like this. She was my third and the best of all so far. Alas.------------------------------------
