I tried to post this on Adrenals group with no luck.My doctor is going to order a test for renin, but he is unsure of the one I need. Here are the options that are listed. These are the ones Quest offers. I have been tested for Aldoserone and it came back with 2; sodium low and Potassium, you mentioned getting tot he dangerous level. I would like to see another doc who treats for adrenal issues if needed. I noticed you are the moderator for the adrenals group, but I was unable to figure out what the address was for the e-mail.

!. Aldosterone/Plasma Renin Activity Ratios, LC/MS/MS - (16845)

2. Plasma Renin Acivity, LC/MS/MS - (16846)

3. Aldosterone, LC/MS/MS, Serum - (17181)

NUmber 1 is BOTH aldosterone and renin, number two is JUst renin and

number three is just aldosterone. Aldosterone and renin are often run

together whne looking for kidney causes for high aldosterone.

How would I know if it were kidney versus adrenal aldosterone/renin problems?
