Guest guest
Thanks Nick for your input. I guess I will bump this and pray that Val will feel better soon. Last night was different so I wanted to update with a 3rd question to go with the other 2 and maybe this will be a clue. I did eat a few tablespoons of cashew butter before bed at 10:30, 5 HC and 5 cytomel under the tongue with lights out. I was still so awake!! but after 30+ mins was able to fall asleep. Woke up after 2 1/2 hours in a hot sweat, heart pounding at over 80. I am wondering if maybe too much HC is shutting down any of my own production so I cannot get through the night? Why would the adrenaline thing happen just 2 1/2 hours after a 5HC dose at night when it doesn't happen during the day? Maybe I am too front loaded doing 10/7.5/5/5/5. I have also noticed that my high temps seem to follow my higher HC doses in the morning, so maybe I am getting more T3 into the cells after those doses and could decrease them some. I do have a lull with that last afternoon 5 dose and yesterday I upped it to 7.5 and it helped me have energy and brain function through most of the talkshoe call but was also so awake at bed! I will get electrolyte labs today and add to this but hoping for some input on my HC dosing. If I was to decrease it where would be the best place? I think that I will really feel a decrease unless it is made up for by my own production. I will try more salt when the palps are bad today but I was almost wondering if the salt made them worse because I skipped it at dinner last night and seemed better. Steve > > >Well last night I was proud that I hadn't bothered you guys in a week or so. I had had 2 pretty good days, yesterday especially. The fog was much less, I wasn't vigorous but had good energy, not cold despite the weather! > > Glad to hear there is some light along that tunnel > > >I had been sleeping good and felt a little refreshed in the morning, a new thing for me for sure. For over a week I had not had the waking hot with pounding heart at 3 am. I didn't know if it was the addtional 5 HC at bedtime or the 5 of cytomel as the light went out, as I had tried both individually and didn't seem to help until I did both. > > > maybe they are needed together, seems entirely possible > > >I am taking Cytomel 8.75/6.25/8.75/6.25/5. I had one day before added the additional 2.5 to two of the doses. I have been trying to increase 5mcg every 5 days or so. > > Sounds good > > >My temps avg 98.6 but can go as high as 99 or low as 98.3 during the day. Basal is 97.4 to 97.7. BP is normal ranges and increases on standing. Heart rate in bed this morning was 57!!! Usually I am running 60 in bed and 72 when up and sitting. I am taking HC 10/7.5/5/5/5 at bed. I am on the max dose of iron and getting my second IV tomorrow....first ferritin was 44 and I have been on supps for 3 weeks now. > > heart rate is low still > > > >The reason for my post: > >1. I have started having palps and irregular beats > > This can be hypo or low cortisol or low sodium (among other things). > Glass of sea salted water is worth a try, then consider is it 30 mins > after a dose or when the next dose is nearly due? Then check > temperature when it's happening. > > >2. For the first time in a long long time, I couldn't go to sleep last night. After a few hours I ended up taking sleep meds which I hate to do. > > Yep, I can understand that > > > >Is my HR and palps due to hypo? If so, why does it happen right as I increase the dose and why are my temps almost normal? Should I try to increase again or..... > > you can try, might also be more HC needed to cope with the extra T3 > > >Is my insomnia too much T3 after the raise, too much cortisol at bedtime? I want to decrease the bedtime dose but I was under the impression that I had been getting low cortisol during the night hence the sweating and waking up. > > try a high fat low carb snack at bed time, a lump of cheese say > > >Could be electrolytes as well. I had them drawn last week and will get the results tomorrow. I have been doing 1/4 tsp sea salt twice a day at Vals recommendation but never had abnormal electrolytes in the past and although I have had orthostatic symptoms in the past, not in a long time. > > Could be, try more when the palps are happening > > > >Thank you. And let me say Nick and Val, I am sorry you have been ill and that I have been praying that you will get over it quickly. We all so much appreciate you. > > > Thanks, I'm 98% better now but working on an away job and spare time > is very variable > > Val's on the sick list still > > Nick > > -- > > for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to > > www.thyroid-rt3.com >
