Guest guest
Roni,Just curious.. How would you describe a-fib? Something happened to my heart 2 years ago and I can't describe it with a medical term! My heart stopped beating normally, and switched into an INSANELY FAST shaking instead of beating! For 20 minutes. It felt like an immense feeling of being tickled (!) inside the chest/heart, and it was so amazingly horrifying! I really felt that my heart was not beating at all - it was just shaking! It was amazingly scary!I doubt it was a-fib though! Â Hi Roni, TY. I did take my pulse and it was 84-86 around the time of those feelings. The feeling lasts for a second then goes away and comes back. I did have echo stress test and 24 hour ekg monitor 3 years ago when I had some chest pains and all was normal. THey said they would contact me if there was a problem and they never did. I figured it was a menopause symptom then and I'm wondering if it's the same now. I'm off my estrogen now for 8 weeks, so maybe it's from that. Or maybe it's from too much thyroid? I raised my Erfa 1/2 grain 7 days ago and was doing fine with temps and now yesterday my temp dropped and I got that heart fluttering. > > > > I'm noticing a little more this feeling of my heart sinking in my chest, sort of like a skipped beat, or maybe that is what a palpation feels like. It's not constant, but it's been going on now for the past 30 minutes every few minutes. My pulse is 84 resting, but BP is 110/90, and I usually am around 106/60-110/70. > > > > I have no sweats, in fact, just from being outside for 2 hours, my temperature which was holding at 98.6 all day for 5 days has dropped to 97.4 an hour ago. My temps for five days were from being indoors though, is it possible for temp to drop from being outside? > > > > Is this a hyper symptom? > > >
Guest guest
, My cardiologist explained to me that the bottom chamber of the heart stops beating and instead quivers. He said this can cause the blood to pool and eventually cause clots. So for someone that has uncontrolled A-fib, they will need a blood thinner. So yes, the shaking feeling can be that. I have had feelings of that since then, but not to the severity that I had it on Mother's Day last year. I have done the holter monitors, as well as event monitors. Once they caught one slight A-fib that lasted a few seconds, but then they ordered it again, and I didn't have any that were recorded. The event monitors are used for a month. So every time I felt any weird beat or sensation, I pushed a button or held the event monitor to my heart. Then I would call it into the lab over the phone. They said it they saw anything weird they would advise me to go to the hospital, but they didn't. So perhaps with all the weird feelings you have, to put you more at ease, you could ask your doctor to order the event monitor for a month. My regular doctor (GP or PCP) ordered it for me, so you might not need to see a cardiologist, but then again I am not sure how everything is done in your Norway. I will tell you that my cardioligist said stress (worrying, etc) will make it a lot worse! And when this happens, your posts are convey extreme worry, stress, etc...which is not helping. Take care of you!Terri From: Gibcast Sent: Saturday, February 20, 2010 9:07 AM To: RT3_T3 Subject: Re: Re: Is this a hyper symptom? Roni, Just curious.. How would you describe a-fib?
