Guest guest
Hi! I have recently been tentatively diagnosed with RA (blood work) and will see a rheumatologist soon. I have had joint problems since I was a teenager (I'm 45 now), and we have a strong family history of RA. This past summer I had a hysterectomy and haven't been on any hormones since for two reasons. The first is that the synthetic hormones give me miserable migraine headaches that last for 4 or 5 days. The second is that I had endometriosis that was out in my abdominable cavity and they may not have gotten every bit of it so we can't feed it any hormones. All of that is to say that I strongly suspect that my RA has been triggered by the drastic change I've gone through, and that hormones can definitely cause migraines. I am very fortunate that so far the RA is manageable with ibuprofen and exercise. I have also been doing some reflexology and that really seems to be helping my feet at least. Has anyone else had experience with it? Thanks for all the good information I read on this list. I feel much better prepared to talk to a rheumatologist after following this list for the last few weeks. I also havebeen dealing with menopause and finally found some relief with bio-identicalhormones. My doc prescribes compounded combination of progesterone, thegood estriol, and testosterone and it has worked for me. This is notsynthetic hormones like most of the GYN's hand out. Hot flashes are goneand all the other horrible things. It worked for me.
