Guest guest
Now now if you stop eating all together, you will go into starvation mode and your body will turn your muscles into fat. This will be ok. I get very sick when my body kicks into ketosis but it gets better and I stop feeling hungry. Eat when you are hungry on induction. I think the biggest mistake people make when they get off this WOE is they go back to their old eating habits. If the old eating habits worked, we wouldnt be here. You have to examine why you eat the foods you eat. The worst thing you can do is eat high carbs and high fat. There usually comes a time after induction where you start looking at your caloric intake. I've heard either multiply the weight you want ot be by 10, or multiply the weight you are now by 8. If you do get off this WOE, you still need to follow those guidelines! Drink your water! LOL did I mention to drink your water yet? Guest guest
You don't have to eat egg yolks if you don't want to Debbie. Just eat the whites. If you are finding Atkins too stringent and strange for you, you might want to try some other low carb plan. The modified mayo diet might be more up your alley - you get to have a half grapefruit or grapefruit juice with each meal and it's a bit more low fat. http://members.tripod.com/thediet/list.html The Go diet adds yogurt and is good for people with cholesterol problems and keeps carbs under 50 each day. http://members.tripod.com/go_diet/index.html I also sometimes do a low carb weight watchers 123 plan when I'm craving fruits and veggies - I spend the points they recommend to spend on carbs on meat because I like a larger portion and I still don't eat any sugar or flour. It's low fat, so I end up hungry, but especially in the summer when the fruit it out, it's a better alternative than cheating on Atkins - at least I follow a diet plan and don't go hog wild. I'm a big believer that if you don't feel satisfied and healthy on the diet you are on, you won't stick to it and you won't be successful in the long term. And I think it's very important to lose weight in the manner you plan to keep it off so that you learn how to eat so that the weight won't come back on. We all (or most of us anyways) believe that low carb is the way to go and we feel healthier when sticking to plan, no matter how hard we struggle sometimes. I don't know how I could stay motivated if I didn't believe in eating this way. Kirstie
