Guest guest
Is there a test we can take to test how much stomach acid we have?I have a terrrrrible stomach pain now, all over, and up towards the spleen area... :\ Should I do T3 sublingually when I feel like this? So far I do the first of my 10 T3 doses sublingually, and the last 2. That warning si because those drugs can also raise stomahc acid. But what they DON'T tell you is most hypoadrenl/hypothyr oid folks have SUCH low stomach acid they often need both.
Guest guest
There is a test for stomach acid, the Heidelberg Test. It may be difficult to find a doctor that does them, though, I believe these tests are still relatively rare. Guest guest
There is the burp test... quoted from the adrenals forum: On an empty stomach put 1 tsp of baking soda in about 6 to 8 oz of water and drink that. You should burp almost instantly or at longest within 5 minutes. If you don't you have low stomach acid. If you pass this test but still have symptoms take 1 tablespoonful of apple cider vinegar straight or in a small amount of water. If it causes pain, it usually indicates high stomach acid. Low acid can be helped by taking ACV or betaine HCL, high acid by diet modification and some of the things I spelled out earlier. Of course, neither test is perfect and not accurate if you are taking anything regularly.
