That is one of the highest RT3 labs I have ever seen so I am sure you

really will see improvements wiht T3 only I have cleared my RT3 and feel

unhypo for the first time in over 30 years. I am now able to move on and

work on other health issues such as my Diabetes and possible underlying

Mycoplasma infections, but I am running my own business now and just

bought a home this past Fall and these things were near impossible 10

years ago. It is only a shame it took this long to get here as I have

had to learn thinjgs the painful SLOW and hard way and that was why I

started this group, so maby you won;t have to!

Thank you so much. You really gave me hope to ever feel normal again.

I would be very glad to hear some more success stories - it really fills me up

with hope until I will start the t3 treatment (-:

I feel I am a success story although at the moment I may be having a set back but I suspect if I raise my dose I will be back to feeling like I was. This has happened in the last two days so not sure what is going on.Anyway, I had a ratio of 10.5. After being on cytomel for 13 weeks, I believe, I started noticing improvement. Since I have had an Rt3 of <17 I have noticed more energy, lower cholesterol, acid reflux is reduced enormously, I have lost 21# although in the last two days I gained 2#. My eyebrows and eyelashes are starting to grow back and this is after 20+ years of being hypo and on T4 meds only. The teeth marks on the sides of my tongue are gone. ( I had an acupuncturist tell me 5 yrs ago that this was thyroid) Up until two days ago my puffy face was gone. But I am working with Val on this tiny setback

and hopefully it will stay tiny. I am also taking Adrenal supplements from my doctor and I am amazed at how much better I felt after taking them. I take them in the A.M. because my 24 hr saliva test showed I was too low cortisol at that time. I do think this also helped me to lose more of the weight. I take Standard Process dessicated adrenal. It takes time but stick with it and I am sure you will feel the difference. Hope this helps.VeniziaSubject: success stories? anyone? To: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, February 24, 2010, 4:44 AM

Hi everyone.I goined the group after I found out I have high rt3. The result came out 52 and the reference range is 9-35.Do you think this may be the reason I feel so weak? I haven't read in this forum yet about a success story - someone who cleared his rt3 and then felt much better. Would be happy to hear such stories, cause I am very dispaired here...

Val, I feel so blessed to have you help us this way. When I get better I'm

going to put out a book to tell about my struggles with HypoT for over 20 years

(Im only 34 so I've had a tough life for the most part and how I got better.

Thank God for you Val.

Hi,

When I first discovered my RT3 problem in June 2007 it was 404, range 90-350. I

could hardly move from depression and fatigue. Every little effort was

colossal. I had heart palps, postural hypotension, extreme hair loss and rapid

aging symptoms. I kept upping armour and not feeling anything. From the first

dose onward to 6 grains I didn't feel anything. This was before I got on HC. I

traded to all T3, went on an adrenal rebuilding protocol, raised my pathetic

ferritin level, cut out gluten and followed more of a Paleo diet. It was a

daily, non-stop, give it everything effort. Unfortunately, in order to succeed,

I was forced to drastically narrow my life's activities to only the most

necessary. This meant saying No over and over again. Didn't feel right, but

it's what I had to do. No I can't go, No I can't do that for you or with

you..... no, no, no.... many days I just laid around unable to do anything at

all.

After a year on T3 only I weaned off T3 and onto NT. About 6 weeks later I

could feel the RT3 problem returning, so I ran for a ferritin test and found it

was slipping into the low 50's. Once I jumped onto higher iron I was able to

tell the RT3 was receding by anemia type symptoms diappearing. Wheewww. It's

been a year of doing really well on 2 1/2 grains of NT. Not only this, after 3

years on replacement levels of HC I weaned off in April right after trading to

NT and haven't looked back. My adrenals healed.

I believe my main causes of af, hypo and high RT3 were poor digestion and low

mineral levels, primarily ferritin. The only thing out of my bouquet of health

issues I still struggle with is slipping ferritin. I stay on top of it by

testing every month.

As for exercise I never thought I would be able to workout again. Not so.

Walking 3 miles a day at a steady clip is simply no problem. It's as if I never

had adrenal fatigue. My digestion, with the help of HCL and enzymes, is the way

it should be. My own HCL didn't not fully return with mineral repletion and NT.

It's a long road. Much longer than we could imagine when we start. I can say

that I am one who feels really good and normal. Take heart and learn as much as

you can about what is going on. Most of us end up with a complete education by

the time we get well.

Eileen
