Guest guest
Hi there, I am not on any thyroid meds, but am taking isocort (have been for the past 3 months or so). For the past 3 days, I have had high basal temps i.e. around 36.8, but my average daily temps have stayed in the normal " range " for me i.e. around 36.8 to 37.0. This is not ovulation, as I have been charting my temps for months and always ovulate on the same day - so I know this is not ovulation. I am only expected to ovulate in 4 days from now. Usually, once I have ovulated, my basal temps jump from around 36.4 to around 36.8 and my average daily temps jump from around 36.8 - 37.0 range to 36.9 to 37.1 range. Any ideas as to what this could be? I have been supplementing iron for the past month (200mg a day) due to my low ferritin (It was 15). Could it possibly be that the higher ferritin is suddenly helping the T3 into my cells? Can this happen? If it can, then wouldn't my average daily temps also go up a bit? Thanks! Guest guest
I would thnk it could be both Isocort and Iron helping your body funciton better. Sometimes things dontl happen al at once and partial improvements sputter for a few days before real improvements are seen. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Hi Val, Thanks so much for the reply! Holding thumbs this is the start of me finally healing!! So just to double check that it's nothing to be concerned about? I think I remember reading somewhere that basal temps can be falsely elevated if your antibodies are high - could this be possible? My TPO was 23 seven months ago, and 3 months ago it went down to zero, but my anti-thyroglobulin antibody reading was 17. (I only have one anti-thyroglobulin antibody reading. Thanks again! > > I would thnk it could be both Isocort and Iron helping your body > funciton better. Guest guest
Yes antibodies as they destroy the thyroid gland can actually cause short bursts of hyperthyroid that can falsely elevate basal and daytime temps. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Oh dear, ok, thanks Val. But as its only my basal temps that are elvated, and not my average daily temps, could the antibody attack still be a possibility? I don't feel any " hyper " symptoms at all! Still tired as always! > > Yes antibodies as they destroy the thyroid gland can actually cause > short bursts of hyperthyroid that can falsely elevate basal and daytime > temps. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ >
