Guest guest
Take a look at the dosing information at http://thyroid- rt3.com/dosing. htm. It's very helpful. The big takeaway is that you have to take T3 in doses spread throughout the day to avoid having a big slump. I take mine in five doses - one as soon as I wake up, the next three in 3-hour intervals, and the last one literally at "lights out" when I'm going to sleep. You also want to make sure you follow the schedule for increasing your dose. If you wait too long between dose increases you'll experience a really bad slump of hypo symptoms. I was super-fatigued and my brain didn't work well for far too long because I wasn't increasing fast enough. As soon as I started increasing my doses properly, I saw an immediate difference in my symptoms. Oh, and re initial effects, I saw an almost immediate improvement in symptoms when I stopped taking Synthroid and moved to T3-only treatment. I have been working on getting my iron up, it was 49 1 month ago. I have also been taking Isocort for 1 month, my temps are within .3 variance. I just can't get them any closer. I am also taking 5000mcg of Vit. D. > > I have been reading on this board that some people feel worse while they are flushing the RT3. I just have know idea I should expect to feel as I get started.> > I plan taking a dose of 6 in morning then 6 at lunch. then adding 12.6 every few days, as per STTM book. So that's my plan. I am so nervous and excited to feel better. Then I think don't some people feel worse for awhile? Sorry I rambled.> Thanks>I have also just started T3 on my second day today, and I feel the same as you , my capsules are 10mcg and I am to take 2 doses, my first at 6am because I get up early [have to with dogs to look after] and my 2nd at 11am, doc says to add in another 10mcg at 5 days, but did't say how to do this 1.e, take 3rd dose in afternoon? so I guess I will probably try that.So far nothing much has changed, thought maybe a bit of a headache, and I think my stomach was a bit queezy but I put that down to nerves.I felt pretty tired last night and thought i would sleep quite well but it was a bit disturbed,[but that's usual for me] again I think I am worrying too much.My temps are still around 36.1 to 36.4 basal, did go up a bit yesterday but it was a hot day, pulse is fairly steady at around 70 resting,up to 80 moving around, and Bp with my wrist monitor is varying but not too high.Hope you go wellSandy from Oz
