Guest guest
On DVDs and PCs and displays..... I'm using a laptop we bought in the UK. It's a SOny VAIO and has a half normal size screen i.e. about 4 inches x 9 inches. Grae picked up a DVD drive for it when in Singapore on the way over and yesteday I had a bright idea of buying Steffi the Scooby Doo DVD for Xmas - we plan to get (hire) a player whilst here and in the meantime she could watch it on the laptop. Except...... When I plugged in the DVD drive (it's on a PCMCIA card) and inserted the DVD, I got a msg asking me what region it shoudl use - I chose Aus and NZ as that was what was supported. Instead of a beautiful smooth picture, I got fuzzy green large pixel-like splodges on the screen with a picture sort of coming into it's own every now and then. When it got to a screen where there was no action it all cleared and we got a lovely picture again. And the mouse became a pointer again instead of a big square splodge. I maximised the screen at some stage and now my display is all out of proprtion to my actual screen - it's a standard size instead of long and thin. I don't even know how to reset that! Anyone got any ideas as to: 1 - how to put my picture back into proportion 2 - how to get this DVD to play before Xmas Day.... Help!!!! -- Sue
