Guest guest
I do think it means oyu wil need a MUCH higher dose. It has been the experience of people here that DID use th4e compounded T3 that they needed 250-300mcg daily to be unhypo. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Wow - that is significantly higher. I'm wondering if I should ask the doc/pharmacist to try a different filler. Are there any other fillers that people generally find tolerable? I need to avoid dairy (lactose), grain (rice powder) and anything that could be fruit-derived. And if I do switch fillers, will I then experience hyper symptoms because of increased absorption? I'm only 5 days in now - doing 5,5,5 and will be adding another 5 this evening before bed... > > I do think it means oyu wil need a MUCH higher dose. I am shocked to know how much extra we would have to take, so maybe the extra cost initially would turn out to be cheaper in the long run. Guest guest
Hi Sandy - here is one link from the STTM site: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/2009/11/11/is-cellulose-the-real-problem/ Yes, I'm curious what other fillers would be good to try, though. I'm so sensitive to stuff. > > > > I was reading that cellulose as a filler in compounded T3 can cause problems with absorption. > > > > The compounded T3 I have has cellulose as the binder,? > > > > > Hi Alixe > > Can you point me to the article you read as I would like to get a copy for the compounding pharmacist who made up my T3, I questioned him re: the filler he used and turns out it is cellulose, and in a very patronising manner said " well what filler would you like " , I just went with the regular as I didn't really know what to ask for and as they were pretty expensive already he said it would only add to the cost. > > I am shocked to know how much extra we would have to take, so maybe the extra cost initially would turn out to be cheaper in the long run. > > Sandy from Oz >

Guest guest
Cytomel has ingredients such as cornstarch, which I cannot tolerate. do you know, Nick of tablets that would be pure thyroid? > > >Wow - that is significantly higher. They have to have something in them as otherwise they would be too small to see The Mexican Cytomel has these >MEXICAN CYNOMEL > >Corn Starch >Calcium Sulfate Dehydrate >Sugar glass >Talc >Sterate acid powder >Gelatin >Ethyl alcohol >Purified water > The quantity of cornstarch may not be an issue to you though, they are pretty small tablets in the first place and hence unless you are VERY sensitive to it there may be no effect at all on you. Guest guest
Unfortunately, Nick, I am extremely sensitive - even in small amounts. Highly unusual, but this is the case with me. I contacted my compounding pharmacy and they only compound with cellulose. I contacted another local pharmacy and they compound with acidophilus. I'm not sure how I would react to it, but was interested to see it on the STTM site as a recommended substitute for cellulose. I may try it and, if I do, will post any differences. Anyone else here try it or have comments?? > > > > >Cytomel has ingredients such as cornstarch, which I cannot tolerate. do you know, Nick of tablets that would be pure thyroid? > > They have to have something in them as otherwise they would be too > small to see > > The Mexican Cytomel has these > > > >MEXICAN CYNOMEL > > > >Corn Starch > >Calcium Sulfate Dehydrate > >Sugar glass > >Talc > >Sterate acid powder > >Gelatin > >Ethyl alcohol > >Purified water > > > The quantity of cornstarch may not be an issue to you though, they are > pretty small tablets in the first place and hence unless you are VERY > sensitive to it there may be no effect at all on you. > > Nick >
