This doctor is new (Hertoghe) and doesn't know I'm drinking sea salt yet. If aldosterone looks good in the urine, will that mean I am taking enough sea salt?

 

You need to take it as usua;l unlkess doctor requested you to not take any

Yeah. But now I've already started drinking sea salt. My question is: Can a person like me (AF, low aldo) be without sea salt for 24 hours just like that?

 

If you are testign aldosterone you need ot do it without salt.

Then I'll just drink my sea salt because I've already started with it. I already feel horrible right now, so... I don't wanna feel even worse! :P I was thinking about salt yesterday, and it bothers me that I don't get it: If I drink 1 glass of sea salted water before I to the electrolytes, or I don't drink any salt before I do the electolytes, and I test about 30-40 minutes after having my breakfast... How different will the serum sodium be with and w/o salt?

 

Yes you will be fine though you probably won;t feel very good.

What ytou are looking for wiht electrolyte testing is how much salt your

body is able to retain, thus taking salt you dont;l see thta at all.

ALdosterone is a total waste to test while taking salt.

I did aldosterone many times before I started HC. The last serum aldosterone I remember from 2009, just after stating HC in June 2009 (but no sea salt yet), was at 211. (a litte low?) The range goes from 70 to to 800. I had been avoiding salt for a while priot to starting HC, cause I didn't know the facts of salt, yet! Now I know. Umm I never really salted my food etc. Well, table salt is poison anyway, so.... I was just wondering about the electrolytes and how it works with sodium - Should I not drink any sea salt before testing it, or drink a little or what?My last aldosterone urine test was done just before I started HC (and dirnking sea salt) on May 2009. My Aldosterone in urine was 16 (range 5 - 77).
