Guest guest
Hi Natasha - - My daughter has a CI and from age 3 to 4 used the Nucleus 24 SPrint body processor. We did buy a metal slide for our home slide but you just can't avoid those plastic playgrounds. At the beginning I would take it off while she would slide but it just was too disruptive. After awhile I just didn't worry about it and we never had any program outage or problems. The one time her map was erased was when she was just playing upstairs on our carpet. One good tip is to touch their leg when they exit the slide so the shock is on their leg and not the processor. I just went with that and let her play. Now she has the 3G BTE and those are not as sensitive so I don't worry any more. Good Luck. Guest guest
We were very careful at first and had the unit removed for all outside plastic slide play. Then we decided that there was alot of down time where she was missing sounds and interacting with other kids. We never took it off again and never had a problem. Guest guest
Hi, My daughter has two Oticon Atlas hearing aids. She has only had them since October 2003 but they are great so far. They come in different colors which is great because Deanna feels her purple and fuscia aids are pretty. I also asked if they can change the color if she gets tired of it in a few years and they can. You can check out their web site at www.oticon.com. They don't have a volumn control but have two settings, one for multi directional microphones and the other for forward mic only. The second setting helps in a loud environment like a busy restaurant or the back seat in the car. Deanna just started changing the settings herself when she says " its too loud in here " . They are digital so they can change the programing if necessary and they are ready to accept an fm system which she will have in kindergarten in September. We get free batteries for the life of the aids but I'm not absolutely sure if that is from Oticon or the audiologists. So far so good. Guest guest
I know that with daycare, anyone who deals with my daycare kids has to have a Child Abuse check (The FBI provides this and it requires a SS#) and fingerprinting. Maybe its just a background check of sorts?! Tawnya Ian, 11mo, 1 tooth, NO HEARING AIDS! (They lost our molds!!!!!!!!) , or, eh, Firefighter Dave, 3 1/2 question >I have a question regarding IFSP. > >I understood in a support group that I go to that the school district can not ask for SSN# of the person who will be caring for your child. (RESPITE) But yesterday I called and said I needed a IFSP meeting to add RESPITE to my sons IFSP and the teacher said right a way. Is the person over 18? I said Yes. Then she said, Does he/she have a SSN#? >I said yes.... then she said...He/she will need to be finger printed too.... > >Does it depend on what school district you live in? Why do they need a SSN? Will the person caring for my son need to file that income on her taxes??? I mean my sister n law has a SSN that is not the issue, but why do some schools ask for it and some don't? > >I look forward to hearing your view points. > > > > >

I mean my sister n law has a SSN that is not the issue, but why do some schools ask for it and some don't? I look forward to hearing your view points. It has become a standard security check all over the country and from what I've read, it is suppose to be done everywhere. Employees of school districts are run through security checks. (It has been standard since before 9-11.) Teachers, aides and anyone working with the kids are fingerprinted and have background checks. Asking for the SS# is also standard because they cannot pay the person without that. When taking a job, you also have to provide proof of citizenship/working status. Often a copy of a driver's license is enough. The SS# is also used for the security check. The person caring for your child should be declaring income earned from caring for your son, unless the amount is less than $600 for the whole year. We all know sitters who prefer to be paid in cash, but the simple fact is that is illegal. It is tax evasion. If this person is going to be listed in the school's papers as someone who is hired to provide care, then all this infomration should be on the up-and-up and documented. The caretaker should be willing to provide the information, or stop providing the care. Best -- Jill
Guest guest
Barb, I love your signature, very cute! As for Curves, I have never been so I don't know. Do you work up a sweat? I would guess it is moderate and use the WW activity calc to figure it with your weight and time you spend exercising. Also, I know Donna used to go and she does WW so maybe when she pops in she can let you know. Coco Letter by Shirley

Guest guest
Barb, I found this in another group on how to count Curves. On WW online they don't have a "Curves" workout, but I entered 10 minutes of low impact aerobics, 10 minutes calisthenics and 10 minutes of universal weight training in (the way I was told to figure out a typical Curves workout from another ww online user) Hope that helps! Guest guest
On WW online, all they have is low impact and high, no medium. I put low and you get 2 points for that.
