Guest guest
Hello I am new to the group and our daughter has just had a biopsy done to confirm if she has celiac . looking back it seems to add up ! She would always out eat our older daughter { 15 months older }. Her bowels movements were larger and more frequent and a different color { and we all ate the same food } She was breast feed till she was a year. Then she got sick and we thought her lack of energy was due to a cold then She started to lose weight and dropped to the bottom on the growth charts . We placed her on the gluten free diet about a week ago . She has started to gain some weight back, sleeps less and the diarrhea is more of a mush of undigested food, and she is more active . My question is how long does it take for the villas to repair as to her having solid fat less stools ? This would show she is getting more of nutrition out of her food correct ? Her abdomen is still distended, how long does it take to flatten out ? What are some thing we can do to help her catch up in growth ? We live in northern city in canada and there is no celiac groups, or even a gluten free store. We have ordered books and trying read all we can .
