Guest guest
Well holy crap, these iron labs didn't come out at all like I expected!! High ferritin but low iron?? What the heck does that mean?? Iron Bind. Cap. (TIBC) - 175 L (range 250 - 450) UIBC - 147 L (range 150 - 375) Iron - 28 L (range 35 - 155) Iron Saturation - 16 (range 15 - 55) Ferritin - 147 (range 10 - 291) Hemoglobin - 13.3 (range 11.5 - 15) Hematocrit - 39.9 (range 34 - 44) My iron levels were perfectly fine last September and I've been supplementing since then! Weird weird weird. And here are my thyroid numbers on 75mcg: TSH - <0.006 L (range 0.450 - 4.500) T4 Free - 0.07 L (range 0.82 - 1.77) T3 Free - 6.0 H (range 2.0 - 4.4) Since my heart rate is still high (at least for parts of the day) and taking more salt made no difference, I've gone ahead and lowered my Cynomel back down to 56.25mcg until I can get this iron crap straightened out. Good thing you suggested running a full iron panel, Val! lol ~Rainbow~ 30 year old Female 5'6 " 135lbs Dx: Hashi's, AF, Wheat Sensitivity Rx/OTC: Cynomel 56.25mcg, HC 27.5mg, Florinef 1tab, Potassium 90mEq, Sea Salt 3/4tsp My Log and Labs: http://tinyurl.com/pvgjmb My Blog: http://hyporainbow.wordpress.com

Have yo had > joint pain, stomach pain? I've had ongoing neck pain for the past 3 months. It started around the time that I cleared RT3. I had already been going to a chiropractor before that started and have continued going since, but the adjustments haven't helped (or at least not much). I also experience upper and lower back pain at times (standing/walking for a long time or sitting in an uncomfortable position for a long time). Any ideas on what I can do about that? Also, do you think supplementing iron is going to be enough to bring that up or should I be seeing a doctor about infusions with it this low? Thanks again Val! ~Rainbow~ 30 year old Female 5'6 " 135lbs Dx: Hashi's, AF, Wheat Sensitivity Rx/OTC: Cynomel 56.25mcg, HC 27.5mg, Florinef 1tab, Potassium 90mEq, Sea Salt 3/4tsp My Log and Labs: http://tinyurl.com/pvgjmb My Blog: http://hyporainbow.wordpress.com
Guest guest
Hi Rainbow, I came on just to see what happened with your iron/ferritin and it sure doesn't look good does it. It's always something, isn't it. Damn iron! You're right, that iron panel does not look good at all. You really need to get some Bluebonnet Iron Glycinate. Since most doctors don't understand that inflammation can make ferritin look falsely elevated I don't know if you'll have any luck with IVs. They'll look at the ferritin and run scared. Sometimes you can't figure out where inflammation is coming from. I had a high sed rate for over 10 years and had no clue. Not sure if it was the Hashi's or something else. If you're still hypo then than that can cause inflammation too. Hashi's on top of that sure doesn't help. If you're interested you could test some inflammation markers. If you'd like some more info on that could you post something to the adrenals list. I rarely read all the posts here. > > > Inflammation pure & simple.Your Ferritin is falsely elevated > > and this si why you are stil having troubel optimising the T3. > > We need to knwo why you have inflammaiton thogh.
