Welcome Ally and ! I am fairly new to the board myself. I

also had a son, Peyton, on 01/29/02 as well! He was born with

bilateral clubfoot and we are seeking treatment with Dr. at

the Shriner's Hospital in Minneapolis. He's only in his second cast

because we had to wait ten days between his first and second

castings. I am fortunate to have learned about this in our

ultrasound and so we had everything ready to go when he arrived. He

doesn't seem to mind the casts that much because he got the first

one at six days old, so he doesn't really know differently. How has

been responding to them? We are from South Dakota -- I envy

the nice weather you must be having down in Florida!! Our winter has

been very mild, so I shouldn't complain, but I recall a spring break

trip to Florida and how wonderful the weather was there in mid-March.

You'll have to keep me posted on your son's progress -- being born

the same day, so far away -- they have a lot in common!!

Congratulations! WElcome!

My daughter is 10 1/2 months old now and we live in Virginia. Unfortunately,

we did not find this list until after she was in the DBB/FAB, do there were

times when we were struggling and feeling our way through it. It's nice to

have people with experience to help us through the challenges and celebrate

the successes!

I'm so glad things are going so well for you. It's great that you were able

to get treatment right away.

Good luck with everything and if you have any questions or problems, the

members of this list are an excellent resource!

Welcome Allyson. I used to live in the Tampa Bay area and know there

are a few families here from Florida, though I'm not sure how often

they post.

I'm sure you'll find this site a great resource. Best of luck to your

son.

Hi Allyson

I too had a son born with a mild left clubfoot. (born

01-11-02). He had a series of casts from 3 weeks old

to 8 weeks old by a non-Ponseti method doctor. At 9

mos. old, we switched to a Ponseti method Dr. and my

son has been wearing the DBB at night since then. His

foot looks better than ever, and he even started

walking at 11 months old. So hang in there, and good

luck with your baby boy!!
