Guest guest
Ruthann, I'm glad you're happy with the outcome sweetie! How do you cook flaxseed? Dawn Hi Hi Saw the doctor yesterday, he did stress that this surgery is serious and also reminded me I am in a higher risk group because of my age, 54 just turned 54, he wants me to lose 20 pounds if I can as then he can do it Lap which he says it is easier on your heart, he is also a heart surgeon, he is a great Doctor, he is recommended by all the Doctors around here even for people who live closer to another Doctor. He told me to swim and walk as Much as I can to get some exercise before. He even told me this interesting fact, he is a vegatatarian , and I was for many years and want to go back to being one, which he recommends if you can after the operation. He told me flax seeds were really good for arthritis, ground and added to your food. And using Flax seed oil to cook helps also. I use Flax seeds in my eye pillows so I am going to try it. So Now it is just waiting for the surgery. He is very through he even makes you have a Mental health counselor you see after the surgery to deal with any depression or food issues. Guest guest
Hi Lem, When I was trying to get my SS my dr's filled put all the papers that SS sends. They asked me the questions and put down the answers as I told them what I could do and couldn't do. I was a painter for 24 yrs in our local hospital. The employee nurse started putting so many restrictions on me that I finally went off on short term disability. I don't know if they can get records from your dr's without your permission. I hope you have better luck and are successful in getting your SS. Guest guest
, I too had trouble and at my 1 week appointment I told the Doc and he prescribed a sleeping capsule that I open up and mix with juice or what ever. I use the small plastic cup that comes with the liquid medicines and seems to work ok. It takes a few fills to get it all. You will then sleep! Oh, my usual bedtime routine, sudafed, Afrin, and now my sleeping capsule. I am now 13 days out of upper and lower surgery and will be wired shut for 4 weeks. I had a bad under bite which has now disappeared. Ronnie megan12296 wrote: > Hi..I had lower jaw surgery a few days ago..and was wondering if > anyone had any tips for sleeping. Guest guest
The first few days, I slept barely any and when I did sleep I was waking up every single hour. After about 4 days...I started waking up only once or twice a night(at 4 everynight). The thing that has helped my sleeping the most is getting up and doing something during the day...even if it's just walking around the block the first few days...it's enough to make you tired. It's very important not to sleep too much during the day or your days and nights are going to get mixed up. If you can slolwy but surely cut down on naps during the day and add in phsyical activity, you'll be tired at night. Do mention your sleeping to your doc at your 1st post-op. appointment. Good Luck...Sweet Dreams. *~Daisy~* > Hi..I had lower jaw surgery a few days ago..and was wondering if > anyone had any tips for sleeping. Guest guest
I had the same problem (i am 5 weeks postop lower/genio)! I could never stay asleep. Maybe take some tablets that make you drowsy like 'night' cold and flu tablets or something like that. I just stuck it out, and after about 1 week i was sleeping heaps better. Good luck and ask any other questions you may have- i've been through it all!! jaimi > Hi..I had lower jaw surgery a few days ago..and was wondering if > anyone had any tips for sleeping. Guest guest
I had the same problem with the nasty shakes. I had to use ensure and boost plus. My surgery was on 5/27/04. They told me to try to place an ounce or two in the freezer, for about an hour prior to intake, to create a slushy type drink. Surprisingly enough it works, I do not get sick now, although after next week i hope to never see them again.
