I am now up to 18.75mcg of T3 (cynomel). I am noticing that when I increase the

T3 by 2.5mcg or so, my temperature goes up 0.7 degrees (give or take) for a day

and then will come back down.. (my average temp is 98.6/98.5).

When the temp goes up, I have the same slow pulse and I feel better than the

'bad' I usually feel.. Today, my temp is back to 98 range and I feel hypo with

the brain fog, tired, etc...

I was planning on taking an additional 2.5mcg tonight at bedtime and start

increasing that dosage in the next few days.

I am on day #25 of my cycle and should be starting my period any day- horrible

PMS symptoms ranging from sadness to anger/frustration.

I don't want to hurt myself but I am also going by how I feel.... Any

suggestion? Keep doing what I am doing? Thanks!

December Labs

Free T4 0.88 (0.82-1.77)

Free T3 2.8 (2.0-4.4)

TSH .216 (.450-4.5)

Reverse T3 201 (90-350)

******

My last labs were September, 2009:

Free T3 2.4 (range 2.0-4.4)

Free T4 1.10 (range .93-1.71)

TSH .933 (range .450-4.50)

thyroglobline 8.0 (0.5-55.0)

TPO 9 (0-34)

Looks like you might be going up too slowly. Your body wants the extra

T3, feels good for a day, and then your own thyroid output reduces as

a result.

It might be worth going up by 5 at a time and, provided pulse and

temperatures are OK, doing it every 3 to 6 days as needed.

I wondered if that was what was going on...

I am spitting the 25mcg cynomel into four quarters (6.25mcg each) and using

those...

I am planning on adding additional to my day (was using it 3xs per day with my

Isocort) but am planning on adding the T3 back into my nightly dose of Isocort.

That means I will go from the 18.75mcg to a whole 25mcg in a day... Do you think

that is too much of a jump or use one of my 5mcg cyTomel?

Also, I am still take the T3/T4 combo pill (21 mcg T4/9mcg T3)... When do I stop

taking this?

Thanks Nick!

Nick- When I asked about stopping the t3/t4 combo you wrote " We normally

suggest stopping it at the beginning and replacing it with

the amount of T3 that it contains so another 12.5 as an approximation to it is

what works for most people...

My question is this: Val suggested I stay on the t3/t4 combo because of my low

ferritin at the time (25). I have been on 189mg iron for 1+ months now. Do I

continue on the t3/t4 combo until I get my ferritin tested or do I stop taking

it? I am confused...

thanks.
