- I'm coming from LA and staying 10 days after surgery.

Although I'll be alone for a few days after my son leaves, my

boyfriend is flying out to bring me back home. However, as I said

before, I'm a chicken so if I were doing the whole thing solo, I

think I probably would have stayed longer at the Holiday Inn. Koen

keeps assuring me I'll be fine and so do several of the vets on this

board, but I know myself. I think you have to do whatever makes you

feel safe and secure. I'll be your guinea pig, though, and give you

my honest opinion - of whether I think I could have done it by

myself. It's the unknown that's always so scary, but once known, it

could be a piece of cake. Donna

donna; rebecca and anyone else going alone

FIRST please excuse the typing i am currently sitting in the

brussels airport waiting to go home ) bhr with KOEN on oct 23 -

husband and wife both got them this is belgian keyboard and i have

not adjusted:

you will all be fine we each had bhr on oct: 23 and went to the

holiday inn on oct 25 i would suggest staying one extra day in the

hospital cliff was a bit weak on day 2 post op but i dragged him

to the inn anyway: it was nicer and more restful there, but we did

have each other and could help a bit:

that aside all of the people at the holiday inn went out of their way

to make sure we were well taken care of they all thought it was

funny that ze both had the operation: <jan and mark and koen will

give you numbers to reach them if necessary and you willnever feel

left out in the cold:

we were able to visit gent by day 5 and 6 and travel to brugge on

day 7 for safety we took our crutches, but often they zere not

needed: the taxi drivers from the hotel are all used to koens

patients and all are helpful: the drivers from other companies

were a bit unhelpful so i would use Vtax whenever possible:

the upshot is you will be fine: most everyone speaks english to some

extent and everyone is becoming very proud of koens patients and

their part in making you comfortable and well again:

i cannot, like so many before me, say enough good things about the

way we zere treated from the beginning to the end of our stay in gent:

i will write more and better when i get back on a regular keyboard

pam and cliff

lbhr and r bhr de smet oct 23 02 i have been waiting to sign this

way too long but it sure feels good now to just get back on the ice
