Nick,

I calculated that I have been doing RT3 therapy for 15 weeks now. I do iodine as well. I have a FT4 that is below range (last report on 01/02 FT4 was 2,4 range 12 to 22). I looked at my lab results a few months back from the time I was diagnosed in 2005. At no time did I ever have a FT4 reading that was out of range. I think my doctor gave me T4 to suppress the thyroid but I don't think it was because I was not making enough. (At the time I was not in a fit state to ask too many questions or contest his decision). Is it possible that RT3 therapy is taking longer for me because unlike many people my thyroid still works a bit?

Sounds good, the iodine is not stimulating T4 production then.

with a " well off the bottom " of the range T4 you have suppressed your

own thyroid successfully and hence RT3 should be on the way down if

it's not cleared already.

Could your resistance have cleared?

What dose of T3 are you on and what symptoms have you got?
