So I go to the Orthopedic Surgeon my insurance co sends me (after yet

another delay), and the guy looks at my Xrays and says, " You've got

arthritis. "

" No! (duh) "

And that was it.

So I get home with a copy of the standing xray I'm going to send to Dr.

DeSmet - I had to insist on it at the Ortho office.

And I look at the Xray. Well.

My spine is 1/2 inch off from center, curving towards the operated side.

That's why I'm in such pain!

Any of you with leg lengthening problems have a pelvic xray after your

resurf and have spinal curvature? (My legs are still the same length.)

Is this something that can be fixed with exercise or do I now have scoliosis

as well? It hurts!

I've got an appointment with Dr. Shmalzried at JRI on the 26th, then I send

the Xrays to Dr. DeSmet.

Hi rm,

Well my spine has a nice little curvature in it - curtsy of the way the hip

was for 35 yrs............ and legs the same length......... I am hopeful

that I will undo the curvature in due course........... though mine is also

full of arthritis and not too happy about life............

But I am ever hopeful that this is where being able to exercise again

helps..........and one can actually get equal things happening again in the

spine................ My son has overcome scolorious of his spine via

exercise so I do know it is possible.

I picked up one of these exercise balls that everyone

is raving about and figure it will help my back stretch and

strengthen........ well when I get game to do some of the laying over

exercises on it............ so far I am concentrating on enjoying how it

helps with flexibility of the hip...........
