newbie to antibiotics

Hello everyone:

I have started the minocin this week and wondering if

this is just coincidence...after two days on the

antibiotics I am exhausted. I've read where most

Scleroderma patients don't herx, wondering if this is a

symptom or something. No pain, just intense exhaustion.

If this is from the antibiotics how long is this going

to last?

Dear Roni, We are all very different. I am also scleraderma and I KNOW we

are not as inclined to herx; however, that said, I ALWAYS herx. I sleep

contantly - cannot get enough - and them about one and one-half weeks after

the five days of iv's if begin my herx. at RTC would herx DURING her

iv's and then feel GREAT immediatley afterwards. Hope this helps and good

luck - I will be thinking of you. If you have any questions or get any

fears, just yell. Love, SAndra

Hi Roni,

It's almost certainly a herx :) Scleroderma patients experience the herx

less often than RA patients, but, as people in this group will tell you,

it sure happens :) Good sign.

It can last days or weeks. If it's too much for you to cope with, just

reduce your antibiotic dose slightly. It will come in waves related to

taking the antibiotic.
