Guest guest
What would happen if you bought ten bags of m'n'm's? Would you still eat them all?I had this problem with poptarts. I don't even like them. I'm not sure what the issue was but I had to buy many boxes. Now every once in awhile I have some but not like before. I currently have an assortment that may go stale before they are eaten. Patti I haven't reached that level where I can just leave certain foods alone. I devoured the first bag of M & M's and don't even really like them. For me I think the bigger question is why did I buy them in the first place. Was I testing my "will power", or the validity of IE, or was it just the rebellious child? Part of it that I have a hard time passing up a "bargain", but was it a bargain if it hurts my health or I toss one bag? By the way I gave it to my friend who loves M & M's and doesn't have a weight issue. I would also say that although the M & M's themselves don't really go bad, they go "bad" in my system. That is they do not contribute to my health but do it harm. That's just me. They may be fine for other people's health. I'm glad you brought that up though because it has given me a lot to think about. Thanks. Sandy I still have a big bag of M & M's(it was a BOGO), and I will get rid of it. When I do the BOGO I figure the one I toss or give away is the free one anyway. Can I ask why? M & ms don't really go bad. Perhaps you might want them someday. That would be something I left in my pantry. Patti
Guest guest
Even with the 2 big bags I had I ate one in a 24 hr period. The problem is I really feel so sick and have reflux. Just thinking about having 10 bags makes me feel sick. Maybe that's a good thing. I think my body is telling me what is not good for me and I need to honor that. I am finding that I like sweet things even less and less. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll consider it. Sandy What would happen if you bought ten bags of m'n'm's? Guest guest
I have learned over the years that there are certain things that I do not want to have in the house. But it is important to remember that it is my choice. Pop Tarts, Oreos, homemade brownies, cookies and cakes...they all are weaknesses in that I " feel " like eating them, but feel yucky after. It is freeing for me to just not keep them around for longer than a day or two. If I am out and they are available...I have a lot more control. I can eat some or none and it's no biggie. So, not keeping certain things around works for me. Even with the 2 big bags I had I ate one in a 24 hr period. The problem is I really feel so sick and have reflux. Guest guest
I have been sharing my weekends challenges to NOT overeat and make myself sick. This is my third weekend since I joined IE group. So far, this weekend, I have been doing well, I feel grounded and in charge. I learned When I take a bite, I am waiting to take the next bite. I dont even pay attention what is in my month. Last 2 days, I have been concentrating to pay attention what is in my mouth, taste the food and enjoy it. I am enjoying this process BUT I have to keep reminding myself to do this. It is very hard to keep at it and pay attention to what I am eating. I noticed when I eat something, my diet mentality kicks in, I tell myself, am I going to get fat? does this have high calorie? etc...No wonder I keep eating and cannot stop... Thanks for all of your comments, shoku I still have a big bag of M & M's(it was a BOGO), and I will get rid of it. When I do the BOGO I figure the one I toss or give away is the free one anyway. Guest guest
Glad you reminded me there is no right way to IE. It is my choice and ok to do what works for me. I am ok with having a dessert or even two at the buffet or enjoying family birthday cake and ice cream. And if I choose to throw out something I have brought into the house that was a poor choice in the first place, that's ok too. It's all a process and I can learn from it all. Thanks.
