Guest guest
I just learned that I'm going to have to have surgery to repair two ventral hernias, scheduled for March 9. I'm in the last part of the T3-only treatment for RT3 (I hope!). I just sent off my diurnal cortisal saliva test for adrenals, but I've been told by a couple of wise folks here that I have low cortisol. The doc says my recovery will be approximately 3 to 6 weeks. The first week expects a lot of pain. Is there anything I need to address or prepare for prior to the surgery? I'm sure I need to make sure I take my T3 on schedule. I really do hope to have my saliva results back by then (I sent them overnight delivery). Based on what I read, it sounds like something akin to stress dosing might need to be done? Any other suggestions on things I need to do in the next two weeks to prepare my body? High protein? Extra vitamin C or iron supplements? Anything? Thanks for your help. I'm a bit nervous about this considering that I've been struggling so hard to get well for a long time.
