Guest guest
Carole, Thanks for your comments. I appreciate your highlighting the " randomness " of that number on the scale and the importance of it losing " power " ! Part of my final break from dieting involved the recognition of that random number. I could do " well " on a diet, in desperate hopes of that number decreasing, only to find it never was what I hoped, and then I would binge my distress and hopelessness (thereby setting up more " number " fluctuations). In my mind, how would I ever change the number if doing " well " did not work? It eventually is part of what led me here and really understanding the totality of what it means when we all recognize that " diets don't work " . Thank you again. I really needed to hear that today. I appreciate this group immensely. I do not post often, but value all that is shared and read the exchanges as a morning meditation to keep me centered on IE. Guest guest
, I''m glad that this helped you. Incidentally, this morning my " gain " had completely disappeared. Guest guest
I weigh 2x/week and write it down, but am learning to look at it as a trend rather than a determiner of my daily mood. I also write down daily: exercise, sleep, digestion, night sweats/hot flashes, how's my bad neck, etc, because my health is the holistic sum of many factors. I do feel powerful when I look back at these notes. I don't judge my last-week-self as harshly as my right-now-self, you know? I also keep a journal, which a wise lady told me should be " like sitting down for a coffee with a beloved friend. " When I stop writing, my eating gets more frazzled. (I looked at old notes to see that pattern.) Best Foggy in California > > > > > > In order to motivate myself to move more, I've done the Wii Fit every > >morning > > > > > for the past month.
