Guest guest
, Did you do it naturally or with a D & C? I was due on my birthday until this happened. Oh well, with luck, I just might make Guiness as three pregnancies in one year! Debbie Re: Blighted Ovum I had a mc due to a blighted ovum Nov 25th 1999 and after my first cycle afterward in Jan 2000 I got pg that month and had a baby girl on my bday 10/25/00. I was so worried the whole 9 months but all did work out as it will for you > > > Has anyone else had a diagnosis of a blighted ovum which caused a > miscarriage and been able to conceive afterward? > > Debbie, a blighted ovum is actually a pretty common reason for m/c > and I know quite a few women who have gone on to have babies. > > I pray that this information gives you hope. > > Big hugs, > > Rita

Guest guest
I had a miscarriage a couple of years ago and I suspect it was actually a blighted ovum. I am currently pregnant and due in less that 2 weeks....so YES! You can get pregnant. Keep on practicing!! LOL! Guest guest
HUmor helps everything, go girl. LEnore Re: Blighted Ovum , No honeymoon plans currently. I am waiting for this miscarriage to be over. Then I'll sprinkle sand all over the bedroom, run naked and jump on the bed and tell him that we are pretending we're at the Super Club called Hedonism We are under a tremendous financial strain right now and we wanted to start saving for a baby. So, rather than jinx anything, we're going to continue to try to save. Heck, I MIGHT even feed him grapes and fan him to keep him cool when the " tropical heat " starts. Now I think I need a cold shower. Debbie Re: Blighted Ovum Congrats, Debbie! Guest guest
Debbie, My last m/c is believed to be a blighted ovum. They saw a sac at 5 1/2 weeks and nothing else. The doc had said that it could go either way since it could have just been too early to tell. A few days later I started bleeding. They said that the empty sac probably caved in. They did stress that there is nothing that can cause or prevent a blighted ovum. Since that was my second m/c, I demanded testing which showed that nothing was wrong. I have been able to conceive, but for some reason it took about 6 months and 3 rounds of Clomid. Hugs,
Guest guest
> I guess what scares me the most is that my age is getting up there and everyone I talk to in my family considers me an idiot for even trying. I will be 44 years old in March but according to both my HR OB and my PCP, I'm healthier now than I ever have been. I am so torn about trying again. I want a baby more than anything but I also don't want to jeopardize that baby's future either. Debbie, let me try to give you both sides of the coin here.... I know a great deal of women that have healthy babies in their 40s. Heck, there are cultures in other countries where women give birth into their late 40s. One of them is Israel, as I met a gal online from there who said many women over there continue to have babies that late in life. I can't imagine what it is like to keep trying for a baby and miscarry. I have not had a miscarriage so I don't know what you must be going through. Now, these last two losses could be " flukes " (I hate that word) or it could be related to your eggs, which can be related to your age. I am not quite sure what causes a blighted ovum other than the embryo failed to form at all. I know that many miscarriages happen due to chromosome problems or major structural abnormalities. I do suggest you make an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist to have your reproductive hormone levels checked. Maybe someone else can explain what they do more than I can, but I know women who have benefitted from seeing this specialist. Good luck. Guest guest
yes debby, i have. blighted ovum is the number one reason for a miscarriage and a lot of times, women have them and miscarry before they even know they were pregnant. i had mine the first time i was pg. i didn't get pg again until maybe a year after but i was having infertility problems. i know that it is tough to go through, but God's grace can and will sustain you. He will bless you with a child soon. love, charlotte
