I have a weird uterus-sorry guys if this all offends you-I have a double uterus, endometriosis, and adnometriosis, fibroid tumors, and now only one ovary. My ob used to tell me that my uterus was 'fabulous'!!!!! Zanna
Guest guest
Yes, A double uterus. It is basically a singe, enlarged uterus with a wall down the center of it about 3/4 the way so the cervix is still the same. My doctor said that I am very lucky to have either child because this is a birth defect that I have had since I was in the womb and with a double (or horned) uterus, the baby has a hard time growing because there simply isn't the room that a normal uterus would have. Instead of curved uterine walls, some of mine have corners! If the egg implanted there and started to grow it would not be able to get very big. I have had a couple of miscarriages and he explained that to be the reason. I had no idea til I got pregnant with brody and I had had ultrasounds before. He noticed it on the first ultrasound he did. It is interesting and yes, I am unusual......but we knew that!! : ) Zanna
Guest guest
Not a full involvement of endo, I think...I will have to ask her...she's not 100% sure because none of the GYN's can get my cervix open to do that one procedure I can't think of the name right now...I'll ask again next Friday. For all I know, she may change her mind about the endo part of it. I have cysts on both ovaries, but no one's worried about it. A double uterus??? Goodness...you are a little unusual, maybe?? Guest guest
My pregnancy with Kylie was pretty much uneventful besides a little cramping, very little spotting and premature labor at 8 months, she was only 10 days early. Brody was a very different story....I didn't find out I was pregnant til I was 2 months along. That was by accident too. I had lost a couple babies earlier and we weren't even trying. In fact, I was on the pill!! Anyway, we were at a restaurant one night and was getting Kylie out of the backseat ( she had fallen asleep) so I reached in the front of the door to lock it for him and while I was doing that, he KICKED the door shut!!! He didn't realize my arm was in it.....well, by morning, I was really sore and bruised, so I went to ER to have an xray. They have to ask 'are you pregnant?' I was like, hmmmm, I am sure I am not, but I really don't remember having my period recently...' so they ran a pregnancy test first and voila!!! I was pregnant! I was THRILLED. I also didn't have a broken arm. The next morning, I started bleeding. I was so upset, because that was how my last to miscarriages started....I went to a specialist right away. He put me on bedrest, and did a cerclage at 3 months to close my cervix....I had a lot of bleeding and a lot of bedrest and weekly shots and daily baby aspirin......Actually Brody was a twin but we lost one early on. That makes me sad sometimes but we are so grateful to our doctor to have saved him. He was 10 weeks early and only weighed 3 pounds. He was in the NICU for 9 weeks and came home at 5 pounds. He is 4 now and 44 inches tall....and very healthy. So yes, I had a few complications with his pregnancy.....Hope I didn't bore you!!! Guest guest
My gosh, Zanna, did you have any problems with your pregnancy? The human body is something else, isn't it?? Guest guest
Oh no, you didn't bore me at all, Zanna! What a testimony to the strong woman you are! You really went through a lot! But once Brody was born, I bet you forgot it all!
