Part of the new design of the open toed straight last shoes is a cushion on

the back of the heel so no plastizode insert should be needed. We haven't

needed one since we've been using the new design.

They are designed like that now, but I think it depends on the child

whether you still need the plastizode or not. We have still needed

it with . When we tried without his toes would slip.
