Guest guest
Hi Ron and welcome to our group. I am caregiver to my 51 year old husband Bert who was diagnosed stage III July 2003, right colon resection, 4 out of 8 nodes positive. Bert started 5fu/leuc in August and was on treatment through December 2003. In January, we switched oncologist to Dr. Heinz f Lenz, a fabulous doctor at a major cancer center (USC/Norris) who kept my husband on more chemo and also added oxaliplatin to the cocktail...an added edge if you will. Side effects can vary from individual to individual. Some have a few, some have many, some have them all, some have none. For Bert, it's been a mixture but overall, quite doable. He has missed very little work since this entire fiasco hit the fan, but diarrhea has been somewhat of a problem, as has fatigue. But overall, it's been pretty darn good. I hope you will keep us up to date on what's going on and again, welcome to our group.
