Dawn,

Good thing about your GP.

A lot of people have said that 3 times a charm here too for disablity. I am one of the very lucky ones having been approved the first time after only 4 weeks.

Tell Marlee that braces are considered 'cool' now. They do have awsome colors. Even glasses are cool now. Kylie bought some fake ones at an accessory store and wore those to school because they were so cute!! Man, when I was a kid, you got teased so bad for glasses and braces. Glad I didn't need either til I grew up (and yes, I did grow up!).

I hope your GP writes a good letter and sends it to your Dr. Idiot too. Your Dr. Idiot, Vicki's Dr. Stupid, and my Dr. Ignorant should start their own clinic-in Pakistan!!! LOL.....

Yes, I am in the computer. I am THAT small. I wish......Kids are funny.

When I was little I used to watch commercial and think 'how can they do the exact same thing each time???'. There was a dogfood one that really had me wondering how they got the dogs (3 of them) to all jump for their treats at the same time in the same position 10 times a day for the commercials.....OK, so I wasn't the brightest crayon in the box....LOL

Oh and PS, yes I will adopt you, your hubby and your girls. You need to move here though. I can't live with snow again!! I am spoiled....

Okay, you officially have me peeing in my pants!!! That's just too

funny about our idiot Dr's.

Today when I was buying your chocolate bars, Marlee couldn't understand

how I could have a friend in the computer and why I would be sending her

treats. Too funny!!!

Hi Dawn! So good to hear you sound so upbeat again. I don't know about any medicine that helps dry mouth, but a good friend of mine has Sjogren's and she sucks on hard lemon drops. She says it really helps to get the saliva flowing. Annette

-----Original Message-----From: Dawn Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 6:52 PMTo: OurMyositis Subject: My Dr's. appt.Well, I had a great appt. today. First of all, she was APPALLED (sp?)when I first told her, then SHOWED her in black and white, where myRheumy chalks up all my pain to Myofascial Pain Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and Bursitis of the hip. She just couldn't believe what she wasreading. Kinda ticked me off that she didn't catch on to this when hesent her the letters himself, but that's besides the point. I caught onto it and that's the main thing. She was also furious that I was deniedagain for Disability and is going to write them a very detailed letterstating in no uncertain terms that I cannot work and why. She's goingto fax this ASAP along with a copy of my muscle biopsy, which theydidn't have, so maybe, just MAYBE, I'll get a call in the next week orso approving me, without having to do the whole Toronto thing. Dependson their mood, I guess, when they get her letter. I believe she'llwrite one hell of a letter though, because she was livid. Although, notsurprised. She told me rule of thumb up here, is getting denied 3times before getting approved. Let's hope that's not true in my caseand the 3rd time's the charm. She was thrilled that the MDAC will flyme wherever I need to go in Canada to see a specialist and gladly tookthe names of the teaching hospitals I found on the net and will do someresearch of her own and get me a referral. She can't predict if I'llhave a 6 mth wait or not, but will do her best at rushing it. I amreally excited at the prospects of going to such a knowledgable placeafter being treated by Dr. Idiot for so long (Vicki's old Rheumy was Dr.Stupid, so mine's Dr. Idiot). The only thing I was a bit upset by, wasthat she's unaware of a medication or a spray or anything that will helpmy EXTREMELY dry cotton mouth, caused by my Sjogren's Syndrome. Do anyof you know of any type of med? Seems to me I saw something on the webabout such a med., but will have to do some checking. It's gettingvery, very bad and I need something to help. Anyway, like Annette said,I just can't believe how much difference a day or 2 can make on aperson's outlook. Monday I was soooo upset (you all have no idea! Iwas even feeling suicidal, although I would never, ever do that to myfamily) and now I'm VERY optomistic that I'm going to get approved forDisability and soon. I honestly do. I think I'm finally on the righttrack. I just need a Dr. that's willing to work WITH me and not AGAINSTme. Woo-hoo!! Sorry this is so long, just wanted to fill you all in.Also, kids had dentist appt. today (Emma's first) and no cavities andteeth in great shape. Very happy to hear that! Bad news: Marlee'sgoing to need braces. Her bite is very off centre and not aligned rightat all. I asked if it's her teeth or the jaw itself, and he said a bitof both. She started tearing up a bit, but when I started hyping it upand told her about all the cool colours you can get now, she was fine.Guess we'd better start saving up now, eh?Dawn

Great suggestion, Annette. I suppose because of the tartness. Are they

the kind that are kinda sugared on the outside? I remember those & they

were so good. Not sure if they have them up here though...I've never

seen them. I'll have to look harder, maybe.

Thanks,

Dawn
