Guest guest
I have not tried a biologic but the drug trial I am on is for a TACE - a TNF ACE drug (like the ACE inhibitors they use for heart drugs but a TNF blocker) Because it has small molecules you can take it orally instead of by infusion or needle. So there are things coming up. Maybe they can get ahead of your body again. Guest guest
Hi Deborah - I have been through a similar situation. Enbrel worked for me for 2 years, then stopped working. I switched to Remicade which finally kicked in after the 3rd infusion, but stopped working less than 8 months later. I then switched to Kineret, which works against IL-1 instead of TNF, and it has been working for me for almost 2 years now. Kineret doesn't seem to work for as many people as the TNF blockers, but for some of us it's the only thing that works. I was on Mtx with it for a few months, then switched to Arava (I'm also on Bextra - soon to switch to something else, and 5 - 10 mg of prednisone). The downside of Kineret is that it is a daily injection, and unless it has warmed up it hurts. However, that small hurt helps to keep the big hurts under control. Good luck - I hope you find something that works for you. Beth > Hi everyone- I have been on Remicade for several years and this past year my > body has started to get smart to the drug.
