Guest guest
, for us, it took about 4 days (my son's magic number) to see a great improvement... hang in there. laura > > > > > > I really need some help, here. Since Friday, my almost-5 year-old has been having such a difficult time. He's been head-banging, smacking himself in the face HARD, pinching, scratching, biting, crying, posturing, etc... He also had red cheeks and ears and allergic shiners. No one's gotten much sleep since Thursday night. It seems clear that he's in abdominal distress, but we can't figure out the cause. It also seems to scream " diet infraction!!! " , but I know his diet is clean. I've upped his yeast protocol, but nothing has improved. Could he have developed an intolerance for something new? I'm taking out rice, too, but am still seeing no change. Maybe it's corn... ? > > > > > > Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I can do to help him? > > > > > > Thanks. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Soraya, I used Syntol and Candex (I progressed up to 12 caps a day for syntol and 6 caps a day for candex) for yeast issues. IT WORKS!! I have a friend (not on this forum) who is doing Feingold for her son and daughter (she has twins lives in MA) anyway, I gave her that to try (Syntol and Candex) -- and she reports that her kids are HAPPY. No whining, crying, etc. And they were having separation anxiety (really bad, that when she went to the bathroom they would cry hysterically until she came out)-- and she said that has disappeared overnight. She has been on the regiment (still upping) for three days. I know that people have a hard time ridding themselves of yeast, but if you put nutrition on the back burner...IMHO I think you are just setting yourself up for a vicious cycle. That being said, I kept my kids and brother on it for atleast 30 days. Then I switched to another probiotic. (I used Culturelle at night) Just a suggestion. > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
yup rice freeds yeast, corn, potatoes any carbs will break down into glucose in the gut From: Soraya s Sent: Tuesday, January 11, 2011 2:39 PM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: Re: What's Going On? It seems like common knowledge but I didn't know--rice milk feeds yeast? We just switched to rice milk from homemade coconut milk b/c of huge Igg issues with coconut for my son. But I don't have the yeast under control and I don't want to make it worse yeah sounds like an infraction and you are rounding the end of it you can always rotate, my daughter had only 5 foods she tollerated for a while and we had to do it From: Seraphine Sent: Tuesday, January 11, 2011 2:04 PM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: Re: What's Going On? Thanks so much for your input! His classroom aide had a sub on Thursday and Friday. I wonder if he took someone else's snack, and the sub didn't think it was a big deal. I don't rotate, since he is so limited with he eats - it would be impossible, I think! The only new supplement we began was Trienza, replacing Zyme Prime and AFP Peptizide. I'm wondering if this all started with an infraction, and I made it worse by increasing his enhansa and switching to almond milk. He's doing better today (so far). Not self-injurious at all, but still trying to pinch and bite others (and me!) a lot. it can be anything! do you rotate? that may help you find the problem but you are right in my house that would mean an opiate got in, gluten, soy or milk.....did you start any new suppliments? From: laurargoddin Sent: Monday, January 10, 2011 9:25 PM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: What's Going On? I thought the same - 'infraction' -- however, that being said, it sound like an allergy. This is exactly how my son was before we removed milk. New allergy? Corn makes Rob itch like crazy. It made him nuts. Scratching relentlessly..my daughter too. She got rashes (bad ones, I mean, REALLY BAD ones.) That being said, as a sort of - test - to see if the antidote to 'corn' allergy really is: EFA's, Magnesium and Potassium, Histidine, black walnut, kelp and bee pollen. I added Bee Pollen and more EFA's to Maddie's diet, this took care of the bad rashes. (This is according to my book, The ultimate healing system by LePore, ND.)According to this book - the rice allergy antidote is: Pyrdoxine (B6), B12, Manganese, Arginine, Proline, Yucca and Beet Powder. Is there something he likes to eat a lot of (or eats a lot of?)You might want to add more B-Vitamins anyway (because they are anti-stress, and it sounds like he is completely stressed) -- and I would also add L-Theanine. It works really well for me (when I am stressed out.) They also make it in a gum...thought I would throw that out there... some suggestions. Oh, and if it's ammonia, I believe Chlorophyll can render it neutral, and L-Arginine (and ornithine) assist the body in neutralizing it as well. and now that I am thinking about it...it sound like, he's got PST deficiency. ...let me go look, and I will post it..laura >> I really need some help, here. Guest guest
If you are only treating the yeast, it is quite possible that you have created a bacteria problem. These symptoms sound very much like gut bacteria. If you haven't changed anything in his diet, I would rule out the possibility of bacteria before eliminating more food. Could bacteria still be a problem? How would I determine if this is the problem, and what else can we do about it?Thanks so much for your input. :-) If you are only treating the yeast, it is quite possible that you have created a bacteria problem. Guest guest
, one more thing about Syntol--it looks like it contains probiotics, prebiotics and digestive enzymes. Is that true? And should I expect die-off from Syntol? Thanks! Â Yes, I believe it's trademarked - so Syntol is the name of the product (there isn't a generic type)... > > > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
Yes, it has all those things...and we never got die off. Neither did my friends kids (so far!)... but I always had charcoal on hand, just in case, and never had to use it. She had tried (my friend in MA) probiotics, and other naturals that her ND prescribed for her. Her kids were doing the 'yeast' die off routine that we all here go " yeah, that's die off alright. " -- And then started the anxiety. Then it was nightmare, terrors, rashes, etc. It's been going on for 2 weeks (and she's ready to quit the whole thing!) -- so I suggested the Syntol/Candex. She said within 3 days her kids were happy, no more irritability, a lot less separation anxiety (which she said seems to be lifting -- she said it was 70% better) -- which I explained give it atleast 7 days to see good things. I also told her that I did my regiment for 30 days (minimum) She also said that the stools are really foul, but her kids seem interested more in drinking, and haven't really begged for cookies (which apparently is a daily thing). I also told her during this time try to get them to DRINK. As the detox process can be hard, but it goes faster if you are drinking. On day 30, my daughter was a dream come true. Clear speech, happy, good sleeping. laura:) > > > > > > > > I really need some help, here. Since Friday, my almost-5 year-old has > > been > > > having such a difficult time. Guest guest
I was also told that GSE is great for parasites. She had said that if you eats lots of organic vegetables (we do) than we should do GSE. (So I am!) When my son has an infraction or shows issues, we use 2 cups of epsom salts until the issues are gone, and then we cut back to 3/4-1 cup every other night. and I feel like I am repeating myself, and if I am, I'm sorry. But for eating issues, try zinc monomethione along with the CoQ10 and L-Carnitine. The CoQ10 w/L-Carnitine will increase the appetite, and the zinc will help him not hate veggies. It took my son 3 weeks of supplementing (with zinc) before we got to see a WOW! laura:) > > > > > > > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
No - this is all so good for me to see! Doesn't feel repetitive to me at all. :-)Actually, is already on zinc, co-q10 and L-carnitine. I'll have to check the form of zinc - I think it's zinc citrate. We've been working on his eating issues since he was in Early Intervention, and have never seen any "wows" - just a few steady improvements. He's a really tough nut to crack. ;-) I was also told that GSE is great for parasites. It also seems to scream "diet infraction!!!", but I know his diet is clean. I've upped his yeast protocol, but nothing has improved. Could he have developed an intolerance for something new? I'm taking out rice, too, but am still seeing no change. Maybe it's corn... ? > > > > > > > > > > Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I can do to help him? > > > > > > > > > > Thanks. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
,I noticed you said that after 30 days your daughter had clear speech. Is yeast known to mess with speech? Guest guest
I would take out everything. Give him meat, fruit, and vegetables. Only water to drink! Juiceing is great! Diet alone does not cure leaky gut. Does he have clostridia problems? We have done vancomiacin, mega probiotics, cadidate, candida clear, oregano oil, and ldm-100. Hbot too! All have helped! We have incorporated zeolite and healing codes as well. I hate reading about kids in distress as yours. It makes my heart ache. I hope you find something to help him. Amy A. Guest guest
For her, it did. OR by clearing up her yeast issues, she was able to get better nutrients -- I think sometimes it's a question of the chicken and the egg. (I am not sure which came first...) But once she was on the Syntol/Candex -- it was the difference of night and day -- for speech. At the time, I knew she knew her alphabet (18 months) and she could point correctly and say the letters (numbers and colors) when asked. (We thought she was a genius!) So when she started to have issues around 2 and her speech declined rapidly, and she started signing again, we knew something was up. I had tried the protocol (that I used on my son) and she was SO miserable, and she didn't like the taste and getting her to take it was hell. Her rashes were out of control (behind her knees, in her armpits, in the creases of her wrist, and in the creases of her neck even) -- and this protocol (which is really easy and easy to take/hide) reeled her in. Her speech came back, and although I was still tacking other things, it became very clear that she was nutritionally deficient in a lot of areas. (WHY!!!) That took some time to figure out, but Jimmy's bioavailable vitamin worked wonders again... I cannot FIGURE OUT why my kids seem to need SO much nutrition or why they seem to burn it up so quickly...I mean, I don't feed my kids crap and they eat really well...they take vitamins, etc. And yet, if I divert from the diet/vitamins/etc. They become train wrecks quickly. ugh...I keep reading trying to find that elusive 'thing' that is going to make me understand all of us, and yet, the more I read, the more questions I have. The more I read, the same things seem to pop up over and over again...and it seems so simple, yet so difficult to attain. ..and I'm not afraid to take things out, put things in, try new stuff, etc. -- and it's a LOT of work... that being said, I haven't seen a rash, she has been wonderful and in a good mood for a period of time now, I am getting used to it...and then I think -- 'when's the other shoe going to drop?' I know I am preaching to the choir, but GEEZ -- can I get a break here? > > > > > > > > > > > > I really need some help, here. Guest guest
I would be so frustrated. I was frustrated after 6-7 months of him eating the same 5 things. I give you a lot of credit. We too took L-Carnitine and CoQ10 -- but it didn't seem to work. Then we tried the MRM and our kids started eating a lot. I think Toni also had the same result (kids ate more) from using the MRM. I am not sure WHY MRM works well (as opposed to doing it separately or another formula?) The Zinc monomethionine (I used to get my compounded now I just use the capsule and put it in pineapple juice) is the most bio-available to the body and therefore the uptake is fast. I am not sure why it took Jimmy 3 weeks to all the sudden eat 1 lb of broccoli (spontaneously one night at dinner) -- but after that, he has always tried new veggies. He ate 5 things for the first 6-7 months on the gf/cf/sf/corn free diet. SO this was huge for us. The other thing I did was I started juicing. Juicing (which I didn't know at the time) really helps with the uptake of nutrients, and gets the nutrients into the bloodstream faster. I was thinking - 'my kid likes to drink, so I will juice.' The reason is (which I didn't know or understand) is that when you remove the fiber and all you have left are the enzymes and nutrients, there isn't anything inhibiting the nutrients from getting into the blood stream. So, when you drink a juicer drink, the vitamins are in the blood stream within 10-30 minutes, vs when you take a vitamin it could take 2-3 hours. -- So I started adding the zinc (monomethione) to the juicer drink. laura > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I really need some help, here.
