Guest guest
That's interesting that you mentioned this, I live 4mi away from a manufacturing facility that makes Barbecue gas grill and forklift cylinders. Beryllium result is in the 97th percentile and Cadmium is the second highest at about 75th percentile, with Bismuth at 68th percentile. Has anyone had numbers like this or any insight to where I may look to find out where he would get exposure to Beryllium? > > Thanks- >
Guest guest
Today I spent my time researching the area I live in (OH) and what I found out was shocking. I live in a triangle of manufacturing plants...all steel plants within a 10 mile radius-there are 3 and that's not including an asphalt manufacturer within 7miles and others. The closest one that I mentioned earlier is actually 2 miles from my home. I will have an air test and water test done in my home ASAP! I was looking through my son's medical tests and carbondioxide is HIGH as well. The interesting thing though is the urine toxic metals test has no Beryllium. I did read though I can have a specific test done on his blood to tell me how much is in his system. Do you know of any chelators for Beryllium?I would have never thought that the air that we breath and the water that we drink, bathe and cook with would be an issue! Also volcanic dust (if your barbeque pit has rocks in it) has beryllium in it, so the dust can get in the air, etc. - also beryllium is shot into the air by coal and oil plants (great eh?) I sound crazy to the rest of my family -- but I purchased a air filter that takes chemicals out of the air to put in the bedrooms for sleeping. (~12 hours each night adds up!) I got the Alen Air (about $600 each). I live in Houston where the air quality is bad due to the oil refinery business. I still think it's a good investment. I am looking for a great water system (whole house) but haven't found one that actually tests for all the stuff that I feel is important. If you are going to spend some cash on it, it better work. (That's how I feel about it!) They use cloromines in the water here which is impossible to get out if you don't have a good system. However, that being said, I use a shower filter, and a vitamin C tab to neutralize it. I can tell you, once I cleaned up several areas of our lives (diet, cleaners, air, water) -- we all started to feel a lot better. My husband is good for a headache a week, doesn't get them anymore. laura > > > > > > We just got Fecal Metal test results back for my son and he is dumping a huge amount of Beryllium...I'm puzzled as to where he is getting exposure to this? Guest guest
We pulled loads of Beryllium with PCA-RX by Maxam Labs.
