Guest guest
Hi Lesley, I know how you feel about missing the " critical time " for some things--hearing aides in particular. We keep getting put off because everyone is waiting for the " definative hearing test " to be done after Evan gets tubes in his ears. He has had 2 tests that alreay show significant hearing loss. This is scheduled for the end of the month, but it probably would have been even further off had I not been after his team to do it the same time he is having his urology surgeries done. He will be almost 9 months old! But, alas, it is useless to fret. I have kind of an off-the-wall analogy that I like to use to help keep things in perspective (and if you don't like the same kinds of fish that I do, then it may not make much sense!). If you have ever seen fish-mongers thowing fish to each other (they do this at Pike Street Market in Seattle, WA), that will help in the visualization. I'll put Amelie into the analogy for you. Think of all the problems she has as different kinds of fish. The pnemonia is a big deal--that's like a sturegon. Her upcoming dissociation, also a big deal--mahi mahi. Hearing, important, but not as big as the others--that's a farm-raised catfish. Now, picture yourself as the fish catcher. And you have to deal with a bunch of fish-mongers pitching the fish all to you at the same time. Would you like to catch all the fist? Sure you would (particularly if you are like me--I hate wasting things--my husband thinks I'm pretty OCD on this). But you can't. So you have to catch the biggest/most expensive fish out of the bunch. Farm raised catfish--you can get that pretty much anywhere. But mahi mahi on the floor...that's just wrong! Hugs, Keep hanging in there, And FEEL BETTER (mom to Evan, 8 mos w/ CHARGE) --------------------------------- Yahoo! Mail Bring photos to life! New PhotoMail makes sharing a breeze. Guest guest
- Great analogy, but there might have been a freudian slip in there, because sometimes catching all those diagnoses to deal with, might feel more like a fist than a fish. LOL. Kim > Would you like to catch all the fist?
Guest guest
Darn it--I read that over to make sure there were no typos--guess I got too hung up on spelling mahi mahi right. A big 10lb frozen salmon vs. a fist would probably feel about the same. LOL. Guest guest
Wow ....loved this how easy it all makes sense with something as simple as fish, mind you it took me some time to work out your fish from our fish, in the UK it would have been Salmon cod and haddock!!! but I worked it out in the end, lets get the big fish sorted first. cheers Les x > > - > Can I use that fish analogy in my CHARGE trainings?
