from my first appointment with the internist and I have to say she was/is wonderful!! She listened to me, didn't make fun of me, went over all my notes and files and charts and then examined me rather thoroughly (grins).

She gave me a prescription for methotrexate and folic acid and wants me to get started on it right away and is going to try to get me in to see a rheumatologist at UAMS (our med center) as soon as possible.

I know that I've heard you all talk about methotrexate - she said that it would take about 2 to 3 weeks to kick in and that it can cause me to become anemic so to be sure to take the folic stuff too. Ya'll have any suggestions or comments about this med?

Thanks - kins

I'm so glad you found a doctor you like. It makes ALL the difference in the

world!

How much is your dose for? I started taking it in the mid 90's and started on on 4 pills, then 5, 6 now up to 7 a week. At 6 I started feeling more tired and having nausea that I didn't have with the 5 pills a week. I'm glad to hear another doctor say it causes anemia!

Good luck to you! I hope you get good results.
