Guest guest
I just re-read one of my favorite books... " Such A Pretty Fat " by Jen Lancaster. She is sarcastic and narcissistic and pretty darn funny, in my opinion. This book is a satirical biography, not a " how to " or " self-help " for IE. Still, the author's hysterical take on why food restriction doesn't work (makes her batsh** crazy and HUNGRY) is why I recommend it. Not everything she does is IE, but I thought some of you might enjoy her satirical take on dieters who fear office birthday cake like the plague WARNING: The book is about weight loss, so please avoid if this is a trigger for you. She admits she is narcissistic enough to think she looks good no matter what size she is, but she decides to lose weight for health reasons. And write a satirical biography about it. She chronicles her adventures with Craig and Weight Watchers, as well as some forays into Atkins. Her depictions of these diets (and why you shouldn't go on them!) is terrific. I found some of her commentary around these diets to be incredibly reminiscent of IE. Sara
Guest guest
I saw a young lady the other day in a restaurant with her children. She was, to all recognizable descriptions, fat. But she was lovely, Her hairstyle, her blouse, her manner of dressing, was beautiful. I decided to follow her lead and wear clothes that are cute no matter what my size. My definition of cute is not the next gal's, she was dressed casually, and she was quite pretty.Subject: book recommendation (not really IE, but sort of)To: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Thursday, August 11, 2011, 9:03 PM I just re-read one of my favorite books..."Such A Pretty Fat" by Jen Lancaster.
