Guest guest
I liked it too. It seems to take the onus off the food without banning it. I'm working on that. Sandy I’m reading the chapter “Honor Your Health – Gentle Nutrition” in Intuitive Eating and Elyse Resch refers to junk food as “play” food (p.207). I liked that. Guest guest
Hi, Kate, I like that, too. Although I've been hearing from a friend who wants to "diet," (I'm trying to convince her not to) she says she eats fast food, or chips, out of stress rather than having the time to grab a good meal. (She's not fat, but she thinks she should lose more weight.) Another friend says she eats chips, etc., because she's bored. My question is: why can't you eat non-junk food when you're bored? I moved to another part of the country and found that many people loved BBQ chips. I used to restrain myself from eating that type of stuff, but I get very influenced by people sometimes. So I tasted the chips and, of course, liked them. I then bought bags and bags of it. Well, many years later, I would not buy a bag of chips now, for at least two reasons I can think of: they are truly junk food (not nutritious in the least), and they can be addictive. Maybe not now. Maybe now I wouldn't want to keep eating them. I don't feel the need to test it out. The remembrance of those BBQ chips taste does not make my mouth water. But when I am hungry I choose something I really like. Like mangoes. Yummm, or even pineapple. again yummm. Oh, yes, Some "junk" food isn't that bad for you when you're hungry and, it tastes pretty good. For instance, taco bell bean burrito isn't that bad, I take away most of the wrapping and just eat the beans and cheese inside. I like it. If I'm very hungry, I might have a low-carb small burger from Burgerking because they give you a lot of tomatoes & lettuce w/the burger (no bun) and I like it. Still have not weighed myself, though, I'm scared to.
