Guest guest
I read with interest Jane's post about her checkered past and "numbers" with her accountant. This kind of goes hand in hand with something I was talking to my hairdresser about on Thursday. She is into Atkins and supplements and exercise, etc... She lives right on the beach and has the advantage of having doctors, herbalists, etc .. close by and as clients She told me that when you have a negative self-image, your brain is overloaded with negative waves and your body responds to that negatively. When you are going thru a stressful period in life, depression, sadness or whatever, your brain reacts as if you are going thru a crisis, I guess kind of a protective reaction. Like, it begins to think to itself, "If I'm sad or stressed, there is going to be some type of crisis which means I may not get the proper nutrition, so I'm going to store up all the fat I can to protect myself from this crisis." So when you have any of the negativity going on, your body only knows what the brain tells it. In other words, if you change the way you handle stresses, depression, anxiety, crisis, etc., and try to have a more positive outlook, your body will respond in a positive way. That is why biofeedback, exercise and positive thinking all work if you apply them correctly. I have been trying to think more positive and am feeling a lower weight coming any day now. I'm back to 194.5 - 195 so that's a good thing considering... could also be the hormones but either way, I'll take it. Kari
Guest guest
I have been a true convert to bio feedback for the past 2 yrs. When Debbie was in the hospital with every bone in her body broken and organs shutting down, she could take herself to a better place by using the biofeedback. She had a pin inserted in a broken leg with no anaesthesia and never uttered a cry. All she needed was a few moments to gather her thoughts and strength. The nurses and doctors were so awed they asked her to please teach the staff what she wass doing with so much success. She was truly a remarkable woman. Just months later was when she had her accident. Although she's not with us anymore, I count myself amongst the fortunate who had the chance to meet her. Barb, as hard as it is, Debbie would want you to think of her yet not be too sad. She will always be with you. And we are here for you when you need to talk. Love and HUGE hugs, Kari
