Guest guest
So sorry, I keep meaning to respond to this as I think it would help, and then I get side tracked (my adhd is kicking in, just went and took some mag and b12..) Okay... According to 'the book'...(It goes vitamin, then mineral, then amino acid, and then the herbs that are *supposed to help* -- keep in mind that gave her son the Pau' D'Arco, and he got a rash. -- so I would probably try the vitamins and minerals first...I will also try to include a juicing strategy for these.. HA! grapes, strawberries means a deficiency in: B6 and B12, Manganese, Arginine, Proline. Fruit/veg for juicing: concord grapes (purple ones), Cantaloupe, cabbage, carrots, endive, watercress, parsley Cheddar cheese means a deficiency in: Vitamin D, Potassium, Aspartic Acid, Asparagine. Fruit/veg for juicing: carrots, dandelion leaves (great for the liver, although hi ox) beet tops (hi ox) blueberries, cabbage, endive, parsley, spinach, pineapple, grapes, celery. For wheat/gluten: EFA's (Linoleic) (*I personally would use borage oil for that one), Magnesium (I use Naturally calm, LOVE IT!) Histidine, Black walnut, kelp, and spirulina. Juicing strategy: (magnesium)limes, plums, dandelion leaves, apples, grapes, savoy cabbage, pears and peaches. For Beef/Eggs (whites and yolks) - Biotin, Carnitine, and Sulfur, for amino acids (methionine, cystein, taurine, glutathione, threonine, carnitine) and herbs are: sarsaparilla, eyebright, fenugreek, dandelion, burdock, fennel seeds. Juicing strategy: (not really one...hmmm) BUT..dessicated liver is perfect! It comes in pill form!! It doesn't have anything for: mustard, oregano, asperillus niger, and penicillium natatum... ....so, I would make a juice that contained... lime, pears, cabbage, dandelion leaves (bitter-good for liver though), grapes (concord)(tart, good for B12), parsley and endive. To make it taste better, I would add, apples (golden del), kale, ginger, and fennel. I am going to have to try that. I don't have limes, only lemon, and I need concord grapes, but not sure I can find those in organic. ugh. laura > > > > > > > > > > HI all: > > > > > My daughter is non verbal. Guest guest
and that makes complete and total sense to me now!! Thanks Toni. As Jimmy would *rash* on high ox until I added calcium and magnesium and zinc. (BTW - No more rashes!) You know, I had been 'fighting' that stupid rash since he got over being *sick* when he was 1. He's 4 now...and we finally have reason and a 'cure.' Perfect skin...ahhh.... laura > > > > > > > So sorry, I keep meaning to respond to this as I think it would help, and > > then I get side tracked (my adhd is kicking in, just went and took some mag > > and b12..) > > > > Okay... > > > > According to 'the book'...(It goes vitamin, then mineral, then amino acid, > > and then the herbs that are *supposed to help* -- keep in mind that > > gave her son the Pau' D'Arco, and he got a rash. -- so I would probably try > > the vitamins and minerals first...I will also try to include a juicing > > strategy for these.. Guest guest
I have my 3.5 y.o. daughter on the usual speech supps (MB12, carnosine, DMG) and all are working to lift the verbal apraxia somewhat. Both my kids are on the spectrum (I also have a 2 y.o. son on the spectrum). We have my dd in ABA right now and don't have the funds to start my son on it so when he was diagnosed, the centre that diagnosed him is running a study on Pivotal Response and they put my son in the program (the condition to the program is that he is not doing any other forms of therapy at this time for the next six months until the study is complete). I gotta say, the strategies are quite effective at getting word approximations from both of them. I think when the supps work and the apraxia lifts, the kids need to change what's " normal " and we have to change what's " normal " in the house by expecting requests and responses. PR seems pretty good for changing that in our house. It's also working to get my kids looking at me and making requests to me as a person, rather than just stating a request into a room. I'm still in the process of being trained and have a number of modules to go through but I think the objective of the study is to get me to do it naturally so I don't need to set aside time to do it and to just do it throughout the day. HI all:My daughter is non verbal. Any suggestions for supplements that you all have used that increased vocalization and communication?
