Guest guest
My sister told me tonight...I was so sad. I LOVE THAT MAN! I have even gone to You Tube to watch his old programming...that guy is a machine! Everyday when I get out my juicer (you know like 2 times a day) -- I say " thank you JACK! My son is doing great! " and I sing " I love Jack! " and my son, Jimmy says, " I thought you loved Daddy and coffee? " and then he laughs because he knows what comes next..I say, " I love Jack, Jimmy, Maddie and Sam " and Jimmy always screams out " and coffee " (you know, hell with Daddy!) ....ah, to be in love. and we LOVE pineapple in our house. It's a staple. I did not know it was an anti-inflammatory, but yes, we juice the WHOLE thing (except the rind or whatever you call it.)...and I chose not to use papaya - and the reason is, some people can be very allergic to it...so I just said - okay Pineapple it is! We haven't gotten into the thyroid issue (with Rob) yet. He comes back from FL (he's getting all his mercury out of his mouth) in March, so we will assess where he is in terms of his metal toxicity, and then address the thyroid. When you figure this part out, would you post it. I tend to print those posts I need later. thanks Tammy! laura > > > > , our good buddy Jack Lalanne has passed. God bless his little heart.... > > I was just reading up on bromelain (and papaya) in regards to using them as an enzyme. Tom tested sensitive to asparilgus niger and no matter what people may say, I just don't feel comfortable using an enzyme grown on it (which are most enzymes). I remember you saying not that far back that you juice the core of the pineapple (where the bromelain can be found) and just came across a snippet of an article that says bromelain is also an anti-inflammatory. I'll have to dig a bit deeper, but in the mean time, I thought I'd share that xtra tidbit for our juicers. It could certainly lend a hand as to why you've seen such great results in your house so quickly. > > Also, can anyone recommend a decent thyroid supplement that doesn't cost a small fortune?? > > -Tammy >

Guest guest
Oh yes, absolutely can be modified. And I agree with Toni- the GMO may be what your child reacts to. Mine can consume organic corn syrup but commercial grade ( predictably GMO) causes him to lose a noticeable amount of expressive language. Sent from my iPhone Are you serious? Guest guest
Ok, so I'll check out the price of organic papaya. But if I stick with bromelain, is it enough to break down everything? proteins, gluten casein, carbs etc? Also, what is the half life of enzymes? I can find hundreds and hundreds of sites filled w/ info, but none I've come across mention this. We give them with every meal, but my sons are bother grazers and eat in between. I imagine the bromelain straight out of fresh pineapple has to be way more effective. what do ya think? Guest guest
Why not google half-life of fresh pineapple bromelain and see what comes up? Or if you buy the bottled enzyme, call the company? I called the other week on Digest Spectrum to see how heat sensitive it was. (Lady said it was ok up to 170 or something degrees... I didn't have sources for her info or anything ;-) but I was only using it in 85-90 degree melted chocolate) Ok, so I'll check out the price of organic papaya. Guest guest
I know it sounds weird, Maddie could eat organic potatoes, but if you gave her 'regular' potatoes, she would rash out. I thought maybe pesticides, or whatever...it's not out of the realm of things. We purchase exclusive organic for fruit and veg. I also do organic meats too. Someone had suggested that my bill must be enormous -- honestly, we spend about $100 every 4 days - which equates to about $800 per month. (as of late) -- as I only purchase what I need for meals. This cuts down considerably on $$ needed to eat. We don't eat out a bunch so it's not an issue. laura > > My sister told me tonight...I was so sad. I LOVE THAT MAN! Guest guest
Thanks for that - it was a bit creepy...I am sending it my husband, as he thinks (and makes a bit of fun of!) my crazy-ness over organic vs non-organic. laura > > > > > > My sister told me tonight...I was so sad. Guest guest
Just one thing to remember when buying organic *it doesn't necessarily mean it's not GMO.* Read labels. Cheryl ~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~~@Gryffins_Tail~ Ok, so I'll check out the price of organic papaya. To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Thu, January 27, 2011 6:53:30 AMSubject: Re: Re: Bromelain I think I had mentioned the bromelain and the core :-)Papaya is a GMO food, you have to buy organic to avoid the GMO... and if you buy organic, maybe you won't be allergic to it. :-) My sister told me tonight...I was so sad. Guest guest
Nope. It's *supposed* to mean that, though, so I'm sorry for my poor word choices. You can't be called organic if you are GMO but no testing is required to prove it - is what I was trying to get at. So I usually read labels because they usually will specifically say non-GMO and while it's no guarantee, I'm more inclined to go with someone that says that because I feel like they are more willing to take the hits and prove they are than someone that doesn't.Keep in mind, that doesn't mean I won't buy something just because it doesn't say it. If it's organic and I want it, I'll buy it. But given options, I buy the one that says non-GMO. Or I go with a company that I know is a reputable company. Guest guest
I usually look for the label 'non-GMO' -- but that never occurred to me. You know, that makes sense, I was watching a documentary recently about how GMO corn blew into this other guys corn field, Montasano came in and tested his fields and the guy had to pay Montasano for the corn - because it was patented...I was like WTH? Thanks for the tip! laura > > > > > > > > My sister told me tonight...I was so sad. I LOVE THAT MAN! Guest guest
Well I realize that people can pay off the people that Certify... but if it's certified organic, someone has their reputation on it, right? I think the problem is that to be organic, I believe it's something like 70-90% of the ingredients need to be. I guess 70-90% non-gmo is better than nothing? :-\ Now I want to research that LOL I usually look for the label 'non-GMO' -- but that never occurred to me.
