Well I realize that people can pay off the people that Certify... but if it's certified organic, someone has their reputation on it, right? I think the problem is that to be organic, I believe it's something like 70-90% of the ingredients need to be. I guess 70-90% non-gmo is better than nothing? :-\

Now I want to research that LOL

I usually look for the label 'non-GMO' -- but that never occurred to me.

You know, that makes sense, I was watching a documentary recently about how GMO corn blew into this other guys corn field, Montasano came in and tested his fields and the guy had to pay Montasano for the corn - because it was patented...I was like WTH?

Thanks for the tip! laura :)

That's just it, you don't need to pay off people to certify, they don't require proof of non-gmo. And labels are no more a guarantee than not but I think it's a mental thing. If they say it, I'm more inclined to believe them than if they don't. KWIM? I never said it was a perfect system. Lol! :)

Toni,

It's so frustrating to me. I feel like taking one of these 'scientists' that

put this $ & !%T in our ground, and then off to the grocery market, should be

pulled down the middle of town by his/her toenails. Did it ever occur to any of

these morons what the repercussions of this GMO crap moving around just by the

weather, and wind, etc. and what that means to our food supply? How are we

supposed to sustain our selves as a species, when you have no idea what you are

fighting against!

The only " round up ready " (Montasano's brand)I want -- is those exec's and

scientists that think this is okay...and round them up! GAH!

What are they doing when they certify if they are not looking to prove it? They just show up and ask the farmer, hey are you organic???http://www.pickyourown.org/organic.htm

That's just it, you don't need to pay off people to certify, they don't require proof of non-gmo.  And labels are no more a guarantee than not but I think it's a mental thing.  If they say it, I'm more inclined to believe them than if they don't.  KWIM?  I never said it was a perfect system.  Lol!  :)

You know, that makes sense, I was watching a documentary recently about how GMO corn blew into this other guys corn field, Montasano came in and tested his fields and the guy had to pay Montasano for the corn - because it was patented...I was like WTH?

Lol! Maybe? I dunno. But they do do something. They inspect your form, supplies, records, equipment, receipts, etc. But they don't actually test anything. http://bit.ly/ewYYG1

We have seriuos mold allergies. I asked the ND..."Where is getting mold from?""The ground" Veges from the ground. Has she been checked for allergies from an Nd?

Always Call

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience!

I know it sounds weird, Maddie could eat organic potatoes, but if you gave her 'regular' potatoes, she would rash out. I thought maybe pesticides, or whatever...it's not out of the realm of things. We purchase exclusive organic for fruit and veg. I also do organic meats too. Someone had suggested that my bill must be enormous -- honestly, we spend about $100 every 4 days - which equates to about $800 per month. (as of late) -- as I only purchase what I need for meals. This cuts down considerably on $$ needed to eat. We don't eat out a bunch so it's not an issue.laura
