Guest guest
Love it. Merle Haggard is THE BEST! So... To the tune of " I'm Proud To Be a Coal Miner's Daughter " by Loretta Lynn, of course: " I wish that I'd been anyone else's daughter I'm sure that hell itself couldn't burn much hotter We didn't have fun We didn't have love That's one thing nada made sure of I think we all grew up like Harry Potter " Tag ending* " And now that I'm LC, I think, why bother? " -Coal Miner's Daughter > > Hmm, music for KO s. I like it > > To the tune of Oakie from Muskogie > > I m proud to be a KO, we re all F...ed up > We re beat to shit with FOG and we don t care. > > Tongue firmly in cheek...any other submissions for music of the KO? > > Doug >
Guest guest
She's like one of the Dementors in Harry Potter - she just sucks all the joy out of your life and makes you feel crazy (you know, demented!)
Guest guest
This may seem off the cuff and not helpful to your creative process, but it just sparked a memory in me that I used to call my mother Grendel (after the monster in Beowolf) in high school. Not to her face, although she wouldn't have known what I was talking about! I probably did this partly because I was a bit pretentious in literary matters, but partly because although it seemed like hyperbole, the sense of horror and of this hideous, overwhelming unnatural creature somehow reflected how I felt about my nada. > > I'm a musician singer/songwriter in the soulful type genres. I joined this group a while back because I have a BPD and NPD father. For years he prevented me from doing music... the very thing I love and genuinely need to breathe. Lately, I leave him in his own selfish little world and stay in my own little world of becoming myself and discovering who he prevented me from being. It's what I'm good at and its what I do, and who I am. Freedom is a very sweet thing!! > > Anyways, I'm not trying to solicit anyone or anything. I was just wondering if maybe you'd be willing to share how you'd describe the personality of your parent? I'm writing a song about borderline personality disorder. I've got a chorus, melody (to the chorus) and instrumentals to go with it. However, I don't have the rest of it written. I want it to be as accurate as possible so that when people hear it... they are able to almost help them identify the bpd person in their life if you get my drift. > > You don't have to but if you'd like to share, I'd really appreciate it. I want to make sure the song is very accurate while still being creative and relatable. >
Guest guest
Yea, I sing like that. My tone has been compared A LOT to Aguilera. We have the same texture/tone, except I know when to shut up. =P I'm on the net. I go by " ashleyspencermusic " on youtube and facebook (under the videos tab). It's a little rough because I don't always fully know the songs I'm singing. That sounds neat! The simple stuff works... helps it be really catchy. I'm sure it'll be really pretty. > > > > How awesome!! It's very therapeutic in a way. What style of music are you writing yours in? No one knows what genre my music is yet... but its a bunch of elements from all of the soulful genres. It's got my own flavor. > > > > > > >

Guest guest
You should also try skimming through the previous posts and look for key themes in the words and descriptions people use, I think you will find some common themes. I am not suggesting you use someone's specific words or phrases (without asking them first), but I think you will find some overall themes and patterns of behaviour that many of us have experienced. Some of the things that ring true for me and others have included in their posts are things like: Lying, deceiving, drama, put downs, manipulation, low self-esteem. I am sure there are a number of other themes you could find as well. I can't think of any more right now as my brain is fried as it is late and i need to go to sleep. I would also love to hear your song when done! I love music, but don't really have any skill with it. But am happy to enjoy the work of others who have talents in this area. Music is such a powerful tool. Good luck with the song and I hope this helps you heal as well. Jodie
