Where did they go for the stem cell treatments....this info is very important for those of us considering! Most of what you see online is only positive! My son has been on nids protocal for 6 months now and no changes. He's been on a lot of meds this past 6 months and now dr wants to add more. I know meds do more damage than good. I'm understanding is that most nids patience recover off the protocal after an average 5-11 years later? And still on meds after that? I can't bear to do this whole thing. It's too much burden on my son to go through and I can't stand going through the years and just hoping that he'll recover. > > > > > > My husband and I need to get him better now. Guest guest
There was a segment on 60 Minutes last year that uncovered a scam artist in Panama who claimed to heal with stem cell transplants, it definitely was a scam!!! This is way too experimental and nothing has been proven yet, please be careful!! The internet is full of hearsay. > Please I cannot express to you that I have watched 3 of my friends use stem cells with no or worse results on their kids. Guest guest
I was on the stem cell group for awhile and it never sounded that promising to me. I didn't hear even one story of recovery. You may want to troll that group for awhile before commiting to this treatment. At least hear what other people have to say about it first. Just my 2 cents... > > > > > > Hello.... Guest guest
under that same premise most of what us parents are doing is "proven" go with your mama gut, research and then run after what you gut is telling you. best of luck on your jouney and please share back with us. at one point there was some parent who was new to all we are all doing now....they had to be brave and there were lots of nay sayers then as well. I have also saved stem cells from my last babies cords. incase this treatment ever takes off. which I pray it does!!! I have 2 immunocomprimized children! Guest guest
Hello all! I hope this finds you well. I've received a lot of feedback in regards to my last post. I had my application in process with the Stem Cell Institute in Panama but decided to put a hold for now... Most of the feedback i received was from parents that explained that calling it quits after 6 months is too early. They all recommend giving it at least another 1-2 years. It has only been 6 months and I guess it is too soon to see any improvements. It took my son at 14 months of age to regress, so I guess itll take about the same amount of time or more for him to do better. I will be beginning Immunivor and Tenix. I've heard wonderful things about these two meds from my replied posts. I guess at times we just get so impatient with ourselves and wish we could get our kids better already. I realize its going to take some blood and sweat to get my son better. I also received many replied posts about trying other remedies on the side besides just sticking with nids. Any helpful ideas from you guys would be appreciated. Again Thank you to all the parents who replied to my post and helped me realize that I need to be more patient and ride out this NIDS protocol because it eventually will help better my son. Thanks all and keep in touch! > > > > > > > > Hello.... I've decided to call it quits on the nids protocal. My son has been > > > >on nids protocal for 6 months now and no changes. Guest guest
Funny, all the years I have been doing biomed and have never heard of NIDS....it is so hard.....every Dr., educator, professional, parent, you talk to has a different opinion....makes it so difficult to choose a path. -- Kasey Dettinger ---- " cheryl biomed.mom " wrote: > > > > > > I also received many replied posts about trying other remedies on the side besides just sticking with nids. Guest guest
You could probably find a DAN or other practitioner who would support NIDS, just not vise versa. Â I also received many replied posts about trying other remedies on the side besides just sticking with nids. Any helpful ideas from you guys would be appreciated. DO NOT DO THIS. Guest guest
There are *many* DAN doctors that do antivirals/antifungals. Sadly, they don't all do it as well, though - he gets huge kudos from me on that. But they do weed out the stuff most people don't want from NIDS - like SSRIs - from their protocols and only reach for those when they've exhausted all other options. Tenex didn't do anything for us and we were on it almost the entire time we were with Dr. G. It just made him tired when we tried to increase the dose. There was no difference on it or off it, other than that. But I did hear other parents on the NIDS list saying it was wonderful so your experience may be totally different from ours with it.We didn't do the immunovir with him - he was only just starting to accept immunovir when we left, but he did want us to do it, we just couldn't afford it. Considering adding it when we can. It's pricey. Guest guest
You know, I don't know what really happened and it really doesn't matter. I was told it was an accident. I think that post is in the archives somewhere. Basically, what I was told is that someone said, "Well Cheryl is doing MB12, can I do that?" If this is true, it wasn't malicious. But it still happened. And whether or not it happened maliciously isn't even the point. If you can't be honest with your doctor, then don't see that doctor. Make a choice. It doesn't mean you can't change your mind. But if you choose to see Dr. G, make a choice to listen to him and do what he asks medically. If you get to a point that you want more (or less), make a choice to leave. It's just better for everyone involved.I think people just become afraid to make a choice. It's understandable. You want to cover all bases. But you need to be able to do that honestly and openly. There are many patients that are perfectly happy with Dr. G. Several of them are on this list. I know of parents that (at the time) were doing other things in secret, it's going to happen when you can't be honest when you want more, but they *never spoke a word of it publicly.* It shouldn't have to be like that. And you shouldn't have to feel like you are sneaking around. If you want more, just leave. You don't have to tell him why, you don't have to explain. You simply stop going. And this is true for *any* doctor. Don't put yourself in a bad position. If you want to see him, and want to give NIDS a shot, just choose to listen to him. If that's not a choice you can commit to, don't go. Cheryl ~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~~@Gryffins_Tail~ you should never feel threatened to do something because a dr will be mad at you, you need to do the best thing for your CHILD, you are ONLY responcible for that, and shame on ANY person who would run to a mutual dr and tattle on a person on a private group!!!! shame shame shame! talk about breaking HIPPA law!
