Guest guest
Welcome Village I'm sure you will get some great support here. Why not start out just deciding to be kind to yourself about food - try to just eat when you are hungry and at the other times when you eat just be mindful about it with no negative judgments - and make sure you are eating food that you really want to eat! No more carrot and celery sticks - unless you desperately feel that that is what your body is asking for. Really savour your food. You've done it before you can do it again. Good luck - we'll look forward to hearing how you are getting on. Clare > > Hello, > I have been IE for a while in the past, through my last pregnancy which was perfect(and my beautiful baby boy too ) who is now 2 years old and now I am suffering from chronic yo-yo dieting again. I need to stop that because it is distressing me. I really want to get back on track and stop obsessing about dieting and food. I am a bit overweight (IMC 28) but I carry it well because I am tall. I am healthy and have zero health problem except the diet obsession! > I change diet every week or every three days, followed by a couple of days of really bad nutrition. I really need to stop that. The worst part is that dieting threaten my sobriety - I am an AA member since march. > Any advice would be appreciated. > I do have Tribole book Intuitive eating that I know pretty well as well as her cooking book. > Thanks for listening. > Villager >
Guest guest
Welcome Villager! The beauty of IE is that it is never 'lost' but always within you just waiting to be used. Obsession is your enemy, not food. Is that also a common/driving factor behind your AA? When I first got into IE, one thing I used from Al-Anon when I to this group was to 'post every day for 30 days'. This helped me to help myself by getting into daily checking in with myself and finding what I was doing as well as what I felt I needed to do. No pressure of course! But it created a good working habit that truly got me going on my IE journey. Looking forward to reading more post from you.
