Welcome Village

I'm sure you will get some great support here.

Why not start out just deciding to be kind to yourself about food - try to just

eat when you are hungry and at the other times when you eat just be mindful

about it with no negative judgments - and make sure you are eating food that you

really want to eat! No more carrot and celery sticks - unless you desperately

feel that that is what your body is asking for. Really savour your food.

You've done it before you can do it again.

Good luck - we'll look forward to hearing how you are getting on.

distressing me. I really want to get back on track and stop obsessing about

dieting and food. I am a bit overweight (IMC 28) but I carry it well because I

am tall. I am healthy and have zero health problem except the diet obsession!

Hi Katcha, Thanks for your answer. Yes, dieting is a big trigger to pick up a drink, and it did sabotaged my sobriety once, the first time I went to AA. Now, I need to adress the dieting problem too. Checking in seems like a great idea.NatTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Monday, August 1, 2011 10:28:10 AMSubject: Re: Back on track

Welcome Villager! The beauty of IE is that it is never 'lost' but always within you just waiting to be used. Obsession is your enemy, not food. Is that also a common/driving factor behind your AA? When I first got into IE, one thing I used from Al-Anon when I to this group was to 'post every day for 30 days'. This helped me to help myself by getting into daily checking in with myself and finding what I was doing as well as what I felt I needed to do. No pressure of course! But it created a good working habit that truly got me going on my IE journey.

Looking forward to reading more post from you. BEST wishes,

Katcha
