Guest guest
Sorry to hear about the accident - although everyone still with life & limbs intact is a good thing! When you manage to stay true to IE at such times, it teaches your mind a valuable lesson - that it can get through things without an edible crutch. Excellent!Pam >> > My son got into his second car accident yesterday. The first one was last month. I'm not sure I can adequately explain how I felt when I got call. It wasn't really his fault, but the truck that hit caused him to hit another car. I'm thanking God nobody was injured, but I'm REALLY upset about the guy that hit him as he took off and left the scene before anybody could his plate number. Our car is damaged badly, but the truck my son hit while spinning in circles had very little damage. My son was issued a "written warning", but no ticket. Financially, this couldn't have happened at a worse time. Anyway, I could have eaten myself into oblivion, but I made the choice not to. Instead I ate healthy only when hungry, journaled quite a bit, and then exercised early in the evening. Talk about a victory!!! I'm feeling much better this morning and ready for what comes my way today. >

Guest guest
sumani, first of all I am sorry about you son's accident. Yes I know what it is like to get that phone call. The first time was when one of my daughters was in her teens when she was hit by a drunk driver. In the middle of the night the phone rang and it was the hospital informing us of the head injury. fortunately it was not serious and she had a great Doc stitch up her scalp from mid forehead to back. The scar hardly shows. The 2nd time I got a phone call from my other daughter that started out by saying " Mom we're ok " (she had her baby in the back seat). But those are words you never want to hear because you are waiting for the other shoe to drop. Fortunately neither had any serious injuries. She was hit by a teen who had taken his Dad's SUV without permission. Well I am sorry to have gone on about this. It was long before I had ever heard of IE and I don't remember how I did with the eating. Anyway, I applaud the great strides you have made in not coping with food, but using your journal and exercise. What a victory is right. Good for you. Guest guest
Wow is right! So glad to read that everyone was OK but still the upset of knowing potential for what could have happened had to be impacting too. Great job of staying present with your emotions and not turning to eating to numb or distract. Congrats on that giant step! ehgus, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > > My son got into his second car accident yesterday. My son was issued a " written warning " , but no ticket. >
