update to today's (last minute) dr appt

Okay... I actually got home a little over an hour ago. They didn't have my results back so the dr just sent me home with a prescription to fill if it was a UTI... and they just called to say that it is so I'm off to fill that in a few minutes. They did EVERYTHING today, though. My b/p is still ok... I did gain a pound but I'm not really sure that I actually have gained that or not... lemme explain. You know how if you weigh yourself before you eat and then after, you will see a difference? Well, I always go to the dr early in the morning where I'm lucky if I got a bowl of cereal and it stayed down. Today I went after I had breakfast AND lunch. So that may or may not contribute to the pound. I dunno. The dr didn't say anything, though, so I'm still thinking he's not going to be one of those drs that nag you if you gain more than they say you should (remember, my weight gain would best at zero). We also got to hear the h/b today and for a change NO searching!!! He dropped the doppler on my stomach and it was just beating right there... much higher than it where they found it last time. ) I still don't know what the rate is bc I know he didn't leave it on long enough to get a count today, so I didn't ask. I'm hoping that if I mention it at the u/s that the tech will tell me. Anyway, it was just cool to finally get to hear it without having to rub that nasty u/s gel ALL over my stomach to find it. ) Now I just get to spend the next week recovering from my first every uti!! YUCK!! Anyone with any suggestions for how to get through this (besides no carobnated or caffeinated drinks, lots of water, and the antibiotic) please advise!!
