There is a you tube video w/ Dr Schulman where she treats PANDAS w/ Azithromycin. She uses 10mgs per kg of body weightr once per week.

Just talking to a friend who has a son with what she thinks is PANDAS...we were talking about Zithromax and she was curious what sort of dose doctors usually prescribe and for how long. I don't have any answers b/c my son doesn't have PANDAS. However, I know that many have successfully used it. Does that doctor start off at a strong dose and decrease the dose throughout the treatment? Her son is 8. She just wants to have a little knowledge before seeing the doctor. Ohhh, I'm no expert.

We just started Azith. for my dd5, weighs 40 pounds.

We are working w/ a DAN! Dr. familiar with PANDAS, and agrees we seem to fit the

bill- and we are seeing improvement with the Azith.

He gave us a script for 200mg-250mg every day, 1x a day, for 21-30 days...and

after we get testing back (in a few weeks) we will decide how to proceed from

there.

But I thought for the initial clearing (trying to clear) of the underlying

infection, a daily dose for 30 days was the norm.?
